As of tomorrow Richard Anderson will officially take the helm at
DL. Mr Grinstein had quite the send-off as he left
DL Headquarters and drove off to
ATL for a morning flight to his hometown of
SEA, where he started his career as a corporate attorney for a big law firm and eventually found his way into Western Airlines, Burlington Northern Railway and three and a half years ago Delta Air Lines.

I am proud to have met Gerry! In the few hours with him he displayed his common sense ! I wish that all CEO's had his knowledge and common sense. American industry would be far better off if CEO's were like him. Let's just hope that the new CEO has learned from Gerry's leadership !!!!!!!!! During all his GREAT work, Gerry never forgot the common man. The people of Delta from the rampers right on up tho management. The investor's and above all the customer's of Delta.
Long live the Spirit of Delta and Gerry !!!!!!!!!

Couldn't be better said. He made my day when he turned down a $10 million stock-option bonus earlier this year. Could the same be said about Glenn Tilton over at
UA? Gerald Auprey at
AA?
Gerry will be a consultant to
DL for the next little while (1-2 years I've heard) so not all good airline CEO's just walk away from their careers, they just fade away like any old soldier!
