I don't think that's a very reliable source!

'' A Major Low Cost Airline '' - and even that's only a rumour.

It's not necessarily Ryanair, it would be best to wait and see, me thinks.

It is my understanding that their will me an announcement next week with regard to Edinburgh becoming the latest base for a certain Irish airline.

As Ive said it is only a rumour so make of it what you will. And Im sure we'll see how true it is soon

Ryanair have said it will be a winter low cost blood bath. EZY are adding more and more routes from EDI and they are operating with very high loads.

Ryanair arent stupid. EDI market is expanding quickly so it wouldnt suprise me.

I know that Norwegian and Sterling are also looking to operate a uk base. EDI has a high number of eastern block migrants they have been looking at centralwings sucess. Also EDI gets a high number of Scandanavian visitors which are both big markets that Norwegian are established in

Im not sure how well Sterling do at EDI. AFAIK they only operate seasonally, and have a reduced schedule this year compared to past years

Popular with inbound tourists, but I'd imagine very few people here know about them as they have never made any effort here to get their name advertised. Flights always look busy when I've seen them though.
