Guessing this is a Badger fan charter to Las Vegas for the UNLV game. If memory serves correct UW is using Northwest this year which is a change from their using "MidEx" in the past.

US Air used to have a LAX-MFR-EUG-LAX run on a 146, around 1989/90, flew it a couple of time when I lived in Crescent City.

It's actually that the WAC is a better league -- several bowl bids to decent bowls -- while the Sun Belt has just one very bad bowl bid. La Tech has no incentive other than geography to leave the WAC.

Ok, well I just got back from TLH. Aircraft was N517JB, Blue Moon. I'll submit some pictures as soon as I find my digital camera's base.

If UAB arrives to take on FSU in anything interesting, I'll try to get it as well. Alas, FlightAware is showing that UAB is taking the bus right now...no scheduled flight that could be them to TLH.

Was quite nice today at work...walk out the door and see the DL 752 at the gate and the US(HP) 752 on the heavy pad. As you said, the DL one was headed to DTW for the Ducks game, and the US one had just arrived from CVG with my (poor) Beavs on it. Always makes a good day walking outside and seeing a couple of your favorite aircraft!

Delta Flight 9811--a 757--just landed at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts (KBED) after flying in from Raleight-Durham. It carried the NC State Wolfpack for their game tomorrow against Boston College. After an hour on the ground, the plane left for a nonstop journey--likely empty--down to Atlanta (as opposed to a five-minute flight to Boston, where the plane might have been needed as well!)

Neither Oregon State or University of Cincinnati have returned to school yet. Fall quarter is still 2 weeks away... Look at Hawaii and their trip to Louisiana and then UNLV for 10 days without heading back to campus.

Appreciated the info. Went down to HOU this morning to see N740AL sitting next to the CO mx hangars. I know one of the planes has the U of Hawaii logo on the nose, but this one didn't (at least on the right side). Any chance they'd fly 748 (the marine one) over for the return trip?!

Anything is possible. Unfortunately I don't have access to the A/C routings. The plane that goes to HOU next week will be coming off one of the Hawai'i-Oakland flights:

AQ 442 HNL-OAK
AQ 474 OGG-OAK (more likely this one, since 442 continues to Vegas....though they could do a plane change)

I'll have my fingers crossed for you!! UH is lucky they get to fly on AQ.

Actually the Pac-10 takes the graduation rate seriously and over 85% of U of Oregon athletes graduate. I would say that most big time college sports programs are working hard to improve graduation rates. Hey, if you are going to get a free education because you are on a sports scholarship, you better graduate gosh darn it. Many folks that should be in college are not because they cannot afford a college education. That is just plain wrong......

Poor Beavs?????.... they won!! Although I am a Duck, I root for all Beavs mens and womens teams except for when it is a Civil War game. CRAZY!!! I went to HNL from IAH on CO twice with Rice Football back when we were in the WAC. We never chartered to HNL - too costly. We left Tuesday and returned on Sunday's red-eye back. Second trip, we went out on a DC-10 and back on a brand new B764. We had all but 10 to 15 seats on the B764 where it was all but 40 or so on the DC-10.

The thread reminds me of all the odd flights we took on Billie, Ely, and Stacey with Miami Air - those 722s royally sucked. Never made it on one of their 738s. Had a leg or two with Falcon Air - bad too. Then Junior year on, we did Continental charters or bought out a Southwest flight going out somewhere close to the destination and chartered them back.

Boy does it bring back memories quite a few losses on the road and odd airports like YIP.

Err...they got crushed by Cincy 34-3. Not that Cincy did any of the actual crushing...OSU beat themselves. I believe they had 7 turnovers. The only part of either team that looked any good was the d-line. Both d-lines were pretty dominant. The score was lopsided for Cincy only because of the turnovers, not because of any offensive prowess on their end.

Definitely looks like UAB took the bus to come to TLH. Sucks for them, I know that was a long ride.
