Ncaa Football Charters Week 2

Fri Sep 07, 2007 8:38 am

Oregon State is at Cincinnati tonight on ESPN.

Looks like they had an America West 757-200 from Eugene to Cincinnati.

Aloha flew the University of Hawai'i Warriors to Houston. They go on to Monroe, LA tomorrow to play Louisiana Tech.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAH590

Pictures from the flight at http://www.pbase.com/aqohana/warriors_charters

The team will stay in Houston after the game, then fly on to Las Vegas (on 9/14) for next week's game at UNLV (9/15) before returning to Hawai'i from LAS (9/16).

Total estimated flight time this year for UH: 51 hours for only 5 away games!!

Guessing this is a Badger fan charter to Las Vegas for the UNLV game. If memory serves correct UW is using Northwest this year which is a change from their using "MidEx" in the past.

Aloha73G--Will Aloha keep their plane over here for the entire week? Seems a bit odd, but I see that the plane is still here in Houston at the moment.

Pretty neat!

We beat the U of Houston last week and as many know... Michigan, lost to 1-AA Appalachian State. Tomorrow's game between Oregon and Michigan in the Big House is going to be one intense game. Go Ducks Go!!

I have tickets for the Oregon - Cal game later this month up in Eugene!!

It's actually that the WAC is a better league -- several bowl bids to decent bowls -- while the Sun Belt has just one very bad bowl bid. La Tech has no incentive other than geography to leave the WAC.

I'm going to go see if I can get some pics of this B6 A320 here in TLH.

Ok, well I just got back from TLH. Aircraft was N517JB, Blue Moon. I'll submit some pictures as soon as I find my digital camera's base.   If UAB arrives to take on FSU in anything interesting, I'll try to get it as well. Alas, FlightAware is showing that UAB is taking the bus right now...no scheduled flight that could be them to TLH.

Delta Flight 9811--a 757--just landed at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts (KBED) after flying in from Raleight-Durham. It carried the NC State Wolfpack for their game tomorrow against Boston College. After an hour on the ground, the plane left for a nonstop journey--likely empty--down to Atlanta (as opposed to a five-minute flight to Boston, where the plane might have been needed as well!)

Anything is possible. Unfortunately I don't have access to the A/C routings. The plane that goes to HOU next week will be coming off one of the Hawai'i-Oakland flights:

AQ 442 HNL-OAK
AQ 474 OGG-OAK (more likely this one, since 442 continues to Vegas....though they could do a plane change)

I'll have my fingers crossed for you!! UH is lucky they get to fly on AQ.

Why do you think that so many college athletic programs have such low graduation rates for athletes?

Actually the Pac-10 takes the graduation rate seriously and over 85% of U of Oregon athletes graduate. I would say that most big time college sports programs are working hard to improve graduation rates. Hey, if you are going to get a free education because you are on a sports scholarship, you better graduate gosh darn it. Many folks that should be in college are not because they cannot afford a college education. That is just plain wrong......

Poor Beavs?????.... they won!! Although I am a Duck, I root for all Beavs mens and womens teams except for when it is a Civil War game. Most folks around the country think that the Pac-10 is all about the California teams (USC, UCLA, Cal and Stanford) and U Dub. The U of O and OSU deserve some respect...... The more that Oregon and Oregon State win, the more that the State of Oregon gets some recognition around the country. Hey, the Oregon State mens baseball team are National Champions for the second time in a row..... not too shabby eh?  cloudnine

Not to stray too far off the thread, it looks like the DL 757 aircraft that carried the Ducks to Michigan, continued on to BOS this evening.

I hope that everyones favorite team wins tomorrow. Except for the Michigan Wolverines  duck

CRAZY!!! I went to HNL from IAH on CO twice with Rice Football back when we were in the WAC. We never chartered to HNL - too costly. We left Tuesday and returned on Sunday's red-eye back. Second trip, we went out on a DC-10 and back on a brand new B764. We had all but 10 to 15 seats on the B764 where it was all but 40 or so on the DC-10.

The thread reminds me of all the odd flights we took on Billie, Ely, and Stacey with Miami Air - those 722s royally sucked. Never made it on one of their 738s. Had a leg or two with Falcon Air - bad too. Then Junior year on, we did Continental charters or bought out a Southwest flight going out somewhere close to the destination and chartered them back.

Boy does it bring back memories quite a few losses on the road and odd airports like YIP.

Poor Beavs?????.... they won!!

Err...they got crushed by Cincy 34-3. Not that Cincy did any of the actual crushing...OSU beat themselves. I believe they had 7 turnovers. The only part of either team that looked any good was the d-line. Both d-lines were pretty dominant. The score was lopsided for Cincy only because of the turnovers, not because of any offensive prowess on their end.

Definitely looks like UAB took the bus to come to TLH. Sucks for them, I know that was a long ride.

"ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Oregon coach Mike Bellotti posed for a picture on the block M in the middle of the field at Michigan Stadium, a scoreboard looming in the background.

"Make sure you get the score in there," Bellotti said.

Oregon 39, Michigan 7."

My condolences to Michigan fans............ but.......... GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry that the Oregon defense didn't give the Wolverines much chance to tie their shoes during the todays shellacking, but remember last year, Oregon went from 7 wins and 1 loss to losing every game the rest of the season including an embarrassing 30 point loss to BYU in the Toilet Bowl er I mean the Las Vegas Bowl. I feel better now............

The University of California Golden Bears flew ATA this weekend just like every other weekend.

A victorious, but unimpressive, performance for the (soon to be) #9 Bears.
