Quoting BOAC911 (Thread starter): Does the A319 with Guatemalan registration fly for that airline, or how exactly does tthe Grupo TACA arrangement work? |
Quoting MEA-707 (Reply 1): I flew on a Shorts 360 of Islena, also in TACA colours. I guess it´s sort of the same agreement as Regional and Britair for Air France |
Quoting MEA-707 (Reply 1): Aviateca is still a separate airline |
Quoting RICARIZA (Reply 4): Wikipedia says that TACA flies to more than 50 countries? but I counted only 21.... |
Quoting Aer (Reply 5): Aviateca as an airline per se, no. TA only uses the GU certificates for national flights. |
Quoting BOAC911 (Reply 7): If GU's certificate is current and in use, then the company is still a legal entity. |
Quoting Miamix707 (Reply 8): The larger airlines like Nica, Aviateca and Lacsa don't even have any planes of their own, and for practical effects don't exist as separate airlines. |

Quoting Carmenlu15 (Reply 9): No no no, you got it wrong... it's Co-pa-nen-tal |
Quoting SJOtoLIR (Reply 12): Taca Peru still keeps two 319s registered on its own. http://www.planespotters.net/Product...eg=1&field_fate=1&rpp=150&search=1 Aviateca even has one ATR-42. Registered as TG-MYH. http://www.planesregister.com/aircraft/atr-113.htm http://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/A...r.htm |
Quoting Carmenlu15 (Reply 9): Quoting Miamix707 (Reply 8): Copa is really Continental so no to me that doesn't count No no no, you got it wrong... it's Co-pa-nen-tal |
Quoting MIAMIx707 (Reply 13):
Ok, the two A319s are N-registered and both regs end in the letters TA. Plus the 2nd one is now with Volaris. Are you giving the right link? Aviateca having one ATR 42 with that reg ok I guess that's something. Still central America is TACA and will be TACA for a while probably. I even saw some old Convair in a TACA livery, I think it was from Sansa? can't remember right now. TACA really has some sort of self-cult personality there lol |

Quoting LTU932 (Reply 15): I don't think RZ ever had Convairs. AFAIK, before acquiring a fleet of Cessna Caravans, RZ was a longtime operator of the DC-3, and those DC-3s operated commercial domestic flights right until sometime in the late 90's. |
Quoting Viscount724 (Reply 14): leaving CO with only 10% of Copa now. |

Quoting Carmenlu15 (Reply 6): I think a couple of the ATRs have Guatemalan registration |
Quoting LTU932 (Reply 19): Most of those I've seen were registered in Honduras (HR-***). |
Quoting Mt99 (Reply 17): Quoting Viscount724 (Reply 14): leaving CO with only 10% of Copa now. And COPA with a livery bordering on copyright violations |
Quoting Viasa (Reply 22): TACA Costa Rica (former Lacsa) has a "big" fleet, they have one A319-100, seven A320-200 and a single A321-200 (checked last month). |
Quoting Carmenlu15 (Reply 9): No no no, you got it wrong... it's Co-pa-nen-tal |
Quoting MIAMIx707 (Reply 16): It might not have been an old Convair but whatever it was looked like it lol. IIRC it was a low-wing prop plane. Anything in TACA colors that might fit this description? |
Quoting SJOtoLIR (Reply 23): Would you provide the source? Except the 319s from Taca Peru already discussed, the rest of the airbus fleet is involved with TA: 5 Airbus 319, 22 Airbus 320 and 4 Airbus 321. I am aware the planes are labeled as TACA, LACSA and so on. |
Quoting WesternA318 (Reply 25): LAN had Martin 202's and from what the book "Martinliners" says, TACA may ormay not have leased both Martins and Convairs during High Season traffic. |
Quoting MIAMIx707 (Reply 26): IIRC no more planes are labeled LACSA |
Quoting SJOtoLIR (Reply 28): According with all that has been previously posted out, the conclusion is that LACSA has its own planes involved in GRUPO TACA, labeled as TACA and showing the Costa Rican flag... |
Quoting LTU932 (Reply 31): Yeah, but RZ still uses that hideous TA livery. |
Quoting MIAMIx707 (Reply 32): Perhaps Sansa is still affiliated with Grupo Taca and Aeroperlas isn't? |
Quoting LTU932 (Reply 34): RZ should go back to the old colourscheme they used on their DC-3s. |
