New CSA Livery Revealed

What do you think? To me it's seems a bit boring without the colour blue... CSA will gradually paint all their a/c in this colour, it will take about 5 years.

Not a patch on the old one, I do like the new CSA 'widget' logo, but the rest is just your standard boring Euro-white.

I like the CSA logo on the fuselage, but what the hell is that on the tail!?! They could have done something better than this.

Since Ive seen that "widget" I was wondering where I have seen it before... It reminds me of the widget of Smint... Take a look at www.smint.com

All together, a little boring new colorscheme. They could have done better!

Cheers!  wave

Well, the widget is awesome but I agree on the boring white part. Could it get any worse?

Just terrible. The current livery isn't fantastic, but certainly better than this boring mess. Have designers lost their imagination? Or the execs (more likely the latter). Even if they want a lot of white, they could have at least used some more blue (as in the Czech flag).

What is CSAs new "widget" supposed to represent? Has the company put out a press release yet explainig the new branding/logo rationale?

As i said in another thread, it looks just like some cheap LCC livery. I hope they're not going that way alltogether.

Disastrous! Extremely boring, what a bad move.. the old colours may not have been the most exciting in the world but they were functional and pleasant. This is very very dull in my opinion.

Yes, the titles look good and they are already put on OK's website, but the rest of the livery  no

So, in the last few months we got two really boring liveries. First, there was Delta and now CSA. Is it contagious?  scared

I don't think it is that ugly but I much prefer the previous one. Anyway we'll get used to it in the years to come.
I think the majority of the 737's will keep their current livery as by the time the whole fleet gets repainted, most of the 737's will be phased out. We'll see probably a couple of 737's in this livery, maybe one 400 and one 500. I don't know if all four A310's will be repainted, but at least one of the four will be. The A320's definitely will because they are the youngest aircraft in the fleet. The ATR's may be repainted as well because they are still young. It depends on when each aircraft gets its D-Check inspection.

I actually like the current one; the new one isn't too bad. The one airline that I think should be looking to replace its livery is LOT, the current livery of which dates back to the 1980s; maybe they will use the opportunity of the 787's delivery to do this.

What is Czech Airlines' position on new long haul aircraft. I had understood that it was looking for 3-5 acft to replace its A310s, but haven't seen any action taken on this yet.

Well this new logo is not "OK" in my book. I think the current livery is quite stylish and not boring at all. Oh well, what do I know? Afterall I'm not an over-paid, unimaginative, couldn't give a crap about airline products marketing person.

As you can see the management is apparently too busy fixing things that ain't broken.  Sad

I don't think they were anything special, but one of the forum members on Czech aviation server airways.cz photoshopped A320 into 1950s "retro livery". It would be actually nice to see one of CSA's jets painted in such livery for the 85th anniversary, which is coming up next year.

I like it. Although there is nothing wrong with the current livery, I think its a welcome change and a sign that CSA is modernising... Now can you please get something to replace those A310s?!? Please?

Agreed! Very smart indeed, although I would have preferred a different typeface. Maybe they deliberately went for a 70s retro (a la United) one, but I would have thought upper and lower case would be easier on the eye.

It's about time they ditched the current scheme: it's awful, and must be one of the longest currently in service.

Next to no thought put into it, a simple logo, fine but so much white!!

The new livery is nice... but the tail logo reminds me of the logo of the Spanish-language Telefutura TV network in the US (Univision's sister network).

Sorry guys but I like the new scheme for CSA. I also really like the newest Delta livery. Both look very modern and up to date. Wait until you actually see them on a plane and you might change your mind. Some schemes seem as though they were tailor-made for a particular aircraft.

The count so far: 20 "bad" votes, 6 "good" votes.

Not a fast start for the new scheme. But who said airliners.net represents real-world opinion

I think the logo on the tail looks like half the CBS News "eye" logo.

And it's simpler and cheaper to paint than the current livery. I doubt many, if any, passengers have ever made their decision on which airline to fly on based on the aircraft's livery.

I always liked the current livery which still seems modern, except for the problem with the CSA name since Slovakia became independent. They must get a few questions from passengers from other parts of the world who aren't familiar with recent Czech history asking what the S stands for.

I don't know, I find it kind of innovative - don't you see that new snow-ish kind of color they've added to the majority of the fuselage? I've never seen this shade of color on a plane before, and I think it'll match the clouds pretty well...

...AAAAAW, COME ON!!!  banghead   hissyfit

Ia Orana all !

I quite like the new livery, yet again I work for the airline that pioneered the eurowhite liveries...
I think it is a simple and smart livery just like the Delta one which I also like a lot.
Airline liveries are not created for spotters or airline buffs; Most liveries take into account the cost of painting the airplane, how long it will last in time (look at airlines like AF or AA... years without changing or only minor changes), and how the general public will perceive it and by general public we will say business class passengers...

Happy Flying,

AF Cabin Crew

This is not a great livery, and maybe we were expecting something wow ( a la Britney VMa's performance...), but,
At least, they didn't go for another "rear wave" type of livery ( wich is getting boring and unimaginative):

The A332 would fit in nicely, has a good range and is not that much larger than the A310's. Bu seriously they need to offer some better cabin products than what they do now, even lot installed new C seats and is going to receive the B787 soon.
