Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 7): on an iah-mco flight in a 500 we watched everybody love ramond. |
Quoting Carledwards (Reply 9): in which airlines -500? I thought we agreed they did not have any IFE, or do they!? |
Quoting Flynavy (Reply 5):
Correct, CO is selling 10 of their -500s to Transaero of Russia. Three will leave this year, another 12 in 2008. The remaining 37 airframes are being retrofitted with winglets. |

Quoting ADXMatt (Reply 14): JFK-IAH-JFK frequently gets a/c sub to a 737-700 That may have bean the case for them being able to see a movie. the -500 does not have IFE as stated above. |

Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 16): continental airlines CO 737-500, first class, iah-mco i remeber the flight second for second. |
Quoting Amazonphil (Reply 17): Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 16): continental airlines CO 737-500, first class, iah-mco i remeber the flight second for second. Just out of curiousity, how did you learn that the aircraft was in fact a 735?? Did you ask a pilot or F/A or just look at the cockpit door?? If it was the latter, you HAD to have seen a number in the 600's like 627 or 617. The 300's have the numbers in the 300's. |
Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 18): |
Quoting UncleBuck (Reply 19): i guarantee you you were not on a Continental 737-500 if you watched a movie, unless it was on your own personal device that you shared with those around you. trust me on this one. |
Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 18): looked at our tickets online, read the saftey card and the fas said it was a 737-500. |
Quoting Analog (Reply 21): Unless things have changed recently, the CO safety cards are 737-300/500 (shared for both aircraft). You were probably on a -300. |

Quoting CLE757 (Reply 10): No IFE on Continentals 735's |

Quoting IAHFLYR (Reply 20): I second that, no IFE on any CO B735's |
Quoting Deltaflyertoo (Reply 24): What about the 11 or so CO 737-300s that have IFE, do they continue to stay in fleet? ARe there dedicated routes that they are used on? Or do they just go on any 733 rotation. |
Quoting UncleBuck (Reply 25): no dedicated routes to my knowledge. |
Quoting Deltaflyertoo (Reply 24): they just go on any 733 rotation. |

Quoting UncleBuck (Reply 25): AFAIK, they remain in the fleet, as they are the ones that recently got winglets. |
Quoting Highliner2 (Reply 28): As I understand it, CO is tring to shed the -500s because they are the toughest to make money on. That was one reason CO added the extra row of business class correct? |
Quoting JamesJimlb (Reply 18): looked at our tickets online, read the saftey card and the fas said it was a 737-500. |
Quoting Amazonphil (Reply 31): The safety card used on both is the same....at least it used to be |
Quoting Amazonphil (Reply 31): The safety card used on both is the same....at least it used to be. |
Quoting Amazonphil (Reply 31): Now as for the F/A that said it was a 500, there are many very intelligent F/A's out there BUT there are many...well... This one may have "thought" they were on a 500 but in fact were on a 300.. |
Quoting Njdevilsin03 (Reply 35): The CO 735's did indeed have a form of inflight entertainment back in the 90's. THere was a company that had installed game devices in the back of the headrests and they had controllers that came out of the arm rest like on the 777's |
Quoting Highliner2 (Reply 36): Anybody know if there's a pic of a 735 with winglets yet? I've seen the 3TO's, but no 500s... |
Quoting UncleBuck (Reply 38): to my knowledge no -500s have been retrofitted with winglets. |
Quoting EWRCabincrew (Reply 39): There is at least one. Ship 630 has it. |
Quoting EWRCabincrew (Reply 41): I have seen it in EWR a few times. Very cool looking. Short, stumpy and, of course (the best part), winglets. |
Quoting UncleBuck (Reply 34): or my favorite- (while reading the safety demo on a -300 or -500) "The eight exits on this 737 are marked with red and white exits. There are two doors forward, left and right, FOUR window exits at the wings, 2 on each side..." haha. it kills me. |
Quoting Analog (Reply 29): Do you mean they used to have 4 F seats!?! |
