MIA Concourse J Timeline

Mon Oct 01, 2007 4:24 pm

I've been meaning to post this but since it's October 1, are we at least have way on time? This list was published by MIA for public domain.

Airline Concourse First South operation date

DL / OH H August 29
AF H August 31

LA Group J September 4
TA Group J September 7
US J September 10
UA Ted / S5 J September 13
AV** J September 17
AM-Transportes Aereos Meridionais (Brazil)">JJ H September 20
AZ H September 24
AR J September 27

--------------------------------------------------------------

BW J October 1
LY J October 4
LT J October 9
LH / LX J October 12
AM H October 15
CM H October 18
AC J October 22
CO / 3M H October 25
BA F October 29

Deadline to finish moves is November 10 and close Concourse A
** AV move allows AA to move flights into Concourse E and Satellite.

So, MIA experts. How are we doing on the move. Schedule on time or late half way through plan?

Looks like H will handle all Skyteam members except NWA but also houses non Skyteam TAM.
Looks like J will handle all Star members + LTU, EL AL, Caribbean, Aerolineas Argentinas, Avianca, and almost Star TACA. Good call to all who claimed this would happen.

Can't wait to see BA in F. Will be weird after all these years at A!

Nowhere near on time, of course. The LAN Argentina, LAN Chile, LAN Ecuador, and LAN Peru moved in 24 September. COPA, LACSA, and TACA moved in last week, as well.

Oh for heavens sake. So was the timeline a pipe dream, I mean some airlines are behind schedule (upto 2-3 weeks), which is ridiculous, while others are ahead. Copa was scheduled late October. So I guess the MIA press release is really off then! ROFL!

Any word on whether MP will stay at the E-satellite?

US Airways moves into Concourse J tomorrow. They will technically start use today. Their evening arrival from Philadelphia, which RONs in MIA, will land in Concourse J tonight.

i was in MIA on Sept 20th on UA and they had yet to move. i asked when they were headed out and was told it would be the end of OCT.

I walked down to J and all the check points were still covered with construction walls and the only two airlines in sight were AF and DL, both on the H end, the H checkpoint was open obviously, but you could only get to H, J was still completely closed off. It looks really really nice though. too bad they are going to have to rip out all of the nice new counter positions to fit in everyones check-in units thought, not very bright...

I went to the new terminal 2 days ago and the check points were open for TACA, LAN, Air France, Delta and COPA and the terminal seems fully operational on the arrival area I saw people waiting for the arrivals and the J TSA check points were operational . So I guess it is coming alive!!! I went to the lower level the baggage collection areas and they were also open , although the area was deserted!!! Main level (departure area) is now connected to the main terminal building
