North American At CHQ (Chania, Greece) Last Night

I just came back from CHQ (Chania, Crete, Greece), we landed there at 2200hrs UTC (oct 4th) and left at 0000hrs UTC, when we arrived a North American 767 was parked on the tarmac and when we took off it was taxiing towards the military part of the airport.

What was North American doing here? Military Charter? R&R flight? Personnel? Holiday Charter?

I was in the jump seat in the cockpit the whole time, and I heard the American pilots on the radio just being cleared to taxi...

My camera was out of battery, so no photos!!!! Sorry!

Thanks,

Mateo

Yea, that makes more sense than a tourist charter...

Do they bring personnel for R&R to Crete or is troops in transit?

Thanks for the info!

A little bit of both. Troops getting off at Crete as well as those continuing onto Bahrain and sometimes Djibouti. I believe the flight originates in Norfolk.
