Sorry I should have mentioned that the video is in Flash format (.flv). I'm pretty sure you can view it in IE or Firefox (as long as you have Flash installed). Otherwise you can download this FLV player (visit http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10505954.html )

thanks for the think.... very interesting to see!

the economy looked rather unremarkable to me... but that's sort of what economy is expected to be, i suppose. Like in the 777-300ER, the business class is impressive, easily good enough to rival many competitors first class offerings (though perhaps not as airy as some others) it is easily amongst the best. The suites however, seem to have set a new standard for first class... very impressive Singapore and Airbus. I look forward to flying one someday (hopefully soon).

Two notes:

First, it looks like there will be a Premium Economy cabin? The pitch on the orange and tan seats looks much more generous than the brown and blue seats, plus why have two different color schemes for Economy?

Second, I'm...disappointed...with the new F suites. EK's A345 product looks much more "premium". Mind you, it's better then what we get on the 744 with SQ and more private then the 77W, but I imagine EK has little to worry about...

Do the Business Class seats lie flat? There doesn't look to be too much horizontal space.

Yes. When you are ready to sleep, the seatback lies flat, they add a thick duvet as a mattress, and then you sleep at an angle (around 45 degrees or so). That is how they can get away with such a small pitch, since you would only recline the seatback to a much narrower angle for meals and watching IFE.

Damn. This puts a shade on my return to airliners.net with an "exclusive" on what the Suites were (to be posted the second they were to be revealed in Toulouse).

There is much more to the Suites than meets the eye. The innovative features of the Suites will no doubt be detailed tomorrow.

Airbus has some explaining to do.

I will be on the Sydney-Singapore leg of the inaugural flights.

I am curious as to which is the blue colour Economy Class and which is the beige colour Economy Class.
Would one be the one downstairs and the other one upstairs?  Confused Any idea? Thanks for letting me know.

Real Player will also play it. Business and First look incredible, don't really care much for the colors though. I prefer blues and grays. That beasty plane is just ugly I think, but still an incredible machine. I'm excited to see it finally go into service.

As far as the seat colours, I am not too thrilled either.

I much preferred the Airbus seats on the all equipped aircraft F-WWJB. Soft pastel colours, looked very pretty!

And not one of the links to the videos will open for me. Or - correction - the one in post 27 opens, but takes me to a page that has nothing to with Airbus or the A380.

TIA.

45 degrees?? That is definitely not true, not even close. The seat is either lie flat or a few degrees off lie-flat. Does anyone know exactly? I have flown the old SpaceBed seat on the A345 but not yet on the 77W - this looks to be the same as that.

From the plans I have seen, the angle is about 30 degrees but I don't have a protractor (referring to the sleeping angle of Singapore Airlines' New Business Class).

The seatback slides all the way flat and butts-up against the footwell area, creating a wide, but short, flat bed. So to stretch out, one sleeps at an angle and places one's feet in the footwell area. That is why the seat is so wide - to allow folks to sleep at an angle as the distance from the corner of the "bed" abutting the exit to the aisle and the corner of the footwell is over six feet.

I do like the Economy class it looks nice. The Business class is similar to the one on the SIA B777.300ER. The new suites I don't know I liked jet airways more than those maybe I have to see more photos from different angles but the seat it self looked vintage and not modern at all. And one more thing is that there is none first or business class onboard lounges what els is their for the premium passengers? I think SIA could do better. Can't wait to see QR and EY products I mean both of them have onboard lounges already in their current fleet.

The seat itself looked actually rather nice. Kind of "luxury carish" in that it looked like it was designed for a long-haul flight. However, they are a good deal less wide then the 77W F seat, but it looks like maybe there are "wings" or something that, when the seatback is fully reclined, would make the available space wider.

The F suites are great but they're nothing new to anyone who's ever ridden a decent train. Ok train compartments are a little bigger but the idea is the same. I've always wondered why the same idea was never adopted by the airlines... until now.
This sort of helps set the scene to Mr. Foreshaw's recent comment that “A lot of customers are sitting back, but they'll have to move at some point. We're very confident this aircraft really is a game-changer and everybody will have to play by the new rules.”

Yes, that is correct, you can see that on the seat map, you can spot the stairs down to the crew rest from the first deck. There toilets on each side at the back, with seat between them, I wouldn't want to sit there  ill
Otherwise, a very nice looking cabin  Smile

Looks amazing! I really like the look of the Suites seats. Wonder how comfy they are when fully flat? And they don't look as wide as the First Class seats on the 77W. Also, the Business Class seats look quite cramped, esp with the large TV in front of them. I will see when I tried them out in Nov.

Cheers

The F class looks like cubicles in any modern office. Doesn't it get claustrophobic in there ? Wasn't the big 777 surprise it's airiness and spacious interior. Now they seem to be dividing things into small little spaces like those cube hotels in Hong Kong. I don't see this as trend setting but rather as a fad that comes and goes. EK had something similar. I think it's stupid. A wide open space is more comforting. If you want your own little office, stay at home and send your secretary on the road.

I don't know... It looks a bit less spacious then F on the 77W, frankly. I do want to try the A380, so I suppose I can choose R class on SQ and then I can compare it to my 77W trips.

I think it's some 'generic' rock'ish music - although I'm pretty darn certain that it's part of 'On the run'/'Great Gig in the Sky' being played towards the end of the video with the SQ cabin.

I think that the Suites make the cabin seem really tight actually. I know they didn't show a lot so its hard to discern what actually is there in the cabin but it just seemed tight without affording a lot of privacy. Also, the actually seat seemed a little awkward looking, more like a dentist chair than a place to relax for 10 hours+.

I actually think the whole thing looks heinous. The colors are awful, the suites do look like cubicles. There isn't any added flair or luxury its just a big seat in a box with a big TV.

EK's product, from this quick visual assessment, is almost in a different class.
