CM Reaches Agreement With Pilot Union

Mon Nov 19, 2007 3:29 pm

Even though the current Pilot contract was still good for another 2 years, CM has reached a new 4 year deal with the SIPAC (Copa Airlines pilot union).

The new agreement bumps base salary up 1200 dollars a month and puts the average salary at the airline at around 6-7 thousand dollars.

With this agreement the airline hopes to stop the hemorrhage of pilots to Asian airlines that it was encountering.

From a friend who is an FO at he says the agreement is still a joke and it will do nothing to improve the First Officer's situation, they still get the short end of the stick in terms of salary and QOL. Lets see if this improves CMs turnover rate; over 70 pilots have left this year, and 40 left last year.
If it ain't Boeing (or Embraer ;-)) I ain't Going!
