Weird Delta @ LAX

Just drove by LAX on Sepulveda, saw people de-planing from Delta 767 (it was dark, couldn't see details) over by the United hangars (alongside Sepulveda near the tunnel). There were buses waiting. Anyone know what this is about?

DL parks 76s over there often, but not sure why they'd deplane there...charter?

Was most likely a Delta 757 that was doing EUG-LAX for the Oregon Ducks football team (they play UCLA tomorrow night)...plane arrived at LAX about an hour or so ago, so I'm assuming it took the OP a few minutes to get to a computer to ask this question, not to mention it probably took at least 30 minutes after the plane landed to get those buses moving.

Yes it was the charter, as i left work i saw busses lining up outside of UA Cargo facility and my friend from Delta conformed it.

DL's website has it arriving back in EUG @ 7:35 thonight, but that all depends on what time the game ends:

I have been monitoring Flight Aware all football season. DL has been flying the Oregon Ducks to all away games using their 757's.

I actually saw a 747 land in EUG the day I graduated from the U of O in 1998. President Clinton flew in on Air Force One to visit surviving students at Thurston High School in Springfield. This was a month or two after Kip Kinkle brought a gun into school and started shooting.
I'm leavin on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again....

Why would it park over near the UA Hangers? Most often the charters park at the Imperial Terminal...

DL has maintenance hanger next to UA's. Maybe it was going to be worked on and they wanted to save towing time.

Likely it was a Ryan International 752 or North American 752 (unless they flew commercial). Ryan Intertnational & North American 752's always find their way here during football season and are parked for days on the south ramp before departing back to whence they came! Also not a total stranger is a 763ER (N804MS). Of course not entirely sure what they flew in on....if i get out there tonight i will see for sure (if chartered) as I believe Boise is not intending on leaving until tomorrow (Sunday) at the earliest.

IIRC, the coaching staff makes this game a recruiting trip so they may hold off a while before returning. I took a quick look on FlightAware and didn't see anything in the direction. They may not have even left yet!

That 757 already returned to LAX last night, I think what you are seeing is an error with flightaware.
