US 798 PHL-AMS 12/6 Return To PHL

Just stumbled across this on Flightaware. Flt returned to PHL shown as a diversion eta PHL 2:30a. Does anyone know why?

It's a US 762, not a real surprise. They are always breaking.

Wow! I would not want to be on that flight! It looks like it was about 1/3 of the way and turned back...how depressing for the passengers! Why wouldn't they continute to AMS or even divert to YHZ or YSJ? I'm sure AC crew would have the parts needed to fix a 762.

Damn, that sucks..just about make it to the NAT track and turn around all the way back to Philly....screw that crap!

Not YSJ, but possibly YYT, if that's what you meant. At PHL they would be better able to take care of their passengers and reroute them. No TATL ops ex E. Canada at this time (except maybe YHZ-LHR)

Most likely the book tells them not to keep going since they were still closer to home. AC may have had the parts, but time wasn't on their side either. Any problem with the repair and the crew probably would have gone illegal so PHL makes a lot more sense in that regard.

She departed PHL at 0455 today to AMS with a fresh crew.
There is plenty of room for Gods animals, right next to the mashed potatoes!

I do have access but I do not feel it wise to advertise why.
There is plenty of room for Gods animals, right next to the mashed potatoes!
