Airtran LAS Flights - How Are They Doing?

Mon Dec 10, 2007 8:51 pm

Earlier this year FL brought in a slew of new LAS flights from places such as ROC, MKE, BMI, DAY. I recently was in Las Vegas for a convention and did notice 5 or 6 FL 737's at the terminal.

Does anyone know how well these new/reinstated LAS vegas flights are doing?

Just curious because it seemed to signal a new emphasis on LAS as another leisure destination as opposed to FL's hopeful point-to-point building along with the demise of the YX buyout.

The one's to and from DAY are full from what I have been reading here locally. I do not know how they are doing $ wise.

I'm curious about LAS-CAK. They brought the route back after dropping it for fuel prices. So I assume it must perform well.

IND-LAS started about a month before the scheduled launch date. Any word on how that route is doing?

Is there a better time of the year (traffic wise) for LAS? I know Florida really takes off in late Feb. and March.

Flew FNT-LAS on Nov 7th and LAS-FNT on Nov 10th, both ways were about 98% full. Ticket prices smoke everyone in the state of Michigan, so i'm curious as to how well ($$$ wise) they're doing.

I was considering going to Vegas beginning of January for a convention, checked the ticket price for FNT-LAS earlier today actually and it outdoes every airline in Michigan at $178 roundtrip, nonstop. Incredibly cheap.

$178 was what I paid for my LAS trip in Nov by the way (actually I paid $188, $178 was the fare, but I decided to choose my seats ahead of time, it was $5 each way for advanced seat selection, so $188 total)

I think I am most curious about MKE-LAS and how it is doing as compared to YX? Will FL add another flight to the one they have now?
