Do All Of BA's B757's Have The New Seats?

Mon Dec 17, 2007 11:42 am

I think I read on here recently that BA recently fitted new seats on their B757's?

Could someone please confirm this? What did they have before? Cloth seats at the rear didnt they?

Are all the B757's done now?

Also, the aircraft which are used on BA's domestic routes, are they also used on their European routes, and therefore are fitted with the interchangeable layout in order to have Club World?

Any comments appreciated.

No, thats just the European 767s. They had/have older, but REALLY COMFY dark blue leather, similar to those on the LGW 737s

Yes they can be. The business class is seperated from the back by a curtain, which can move to make the club cabin bigger or smaller as needed. Not sure if BA use this regularly though. The middle seat on one side down the front also folds down to make the 2 + 3 configuration on BA's european or on domestics the 3 + 3. It is only the first 10-15 or so rows that can be adapted to do this.

I love those new seats on BA short haul... I think they are the same design as the ANZ A320 seats, just blue...

I fly quite a bit on BA A319/20/21 and I always choose to sit towards the rear of the aircraft to get these seats... THey are much better than the economy configured club europe seats...  Smile

Here is a link to a BA 757 with the new seats... Only a rear facing view unfortunately  Sad...

Club Europe config, not Club world (Thats the international Club name)

The 757's had cloth as well. Loved the rear of a 757. Much more comfy than the current seats.

I guess you mean European flights with the Airbus and 757 as they can't do this on aircraft with the club world seats.

The cloth seats were on the A/C that were sold to DHL. They were the previous batch of 752s. (see G-BIKA to G-BIKZ)
The next batch got the blue leather seats. And now a seat replacement.

Yes.....no Airbuses or 757s are currently fitted with Club World. Two 757s were fitted with Club World cradle seats for BHX-JFK-YYZ & GLA-JFK-BOS services in the mid 90s & some will be fitted with Club World/World Traveller Plus for the new Europe - JFK services from next May.

Cloth seats have only just gone from the late series 757s, G-BPEx & G-CPEx - 2 were still fitted with long haul type World Traveller seats in the aft cabin (those which operated the regional JFK services mentioned above) and the rest still had the cloth 767 type seats in the back cabin.

All were fitted with the new Recaro leather seats during the summer......these later models were never fitted with leather seats in the rear cabin.....row 26 onwards.

You're completely right, I forgot to think about that. I avoid the rear as much as I can.
Thanks.
