These come in from time to time. Last time I personally saw them was in Sep/Oct 2008: I spotted RA-82047 at DFW on Sept 24 and 29, 2008; RA-82046 at DFW on October 4 and 5, 2008.

It is going to PHIK. What airfield/airport has the identifier PHIK? Flightaware does not list it.

Flights under US military planning often use PHIK rather than PHNL - even though it is the same runways.

It identifies in advance the ground destination of the flight.

I saw two of them on the ramp at AEX a few weeks ago... thought that was really weird.

Saw one come in for a landing at BDL this past Thursday. It was coming in to pick up some aircraft parts for delivery to Airbus in France. Impressive sight seeing an AN-124 on final....talk about complex landing gear!

While taking a leiskurely drive along Airfield Dr, I parked for a moment at Founder's Plaza, and was blind-sighted by that massive 124 on 18R. The sun being where it was at 9ish in the morning, the shots are crap; however, it's nice to have a historical record of one of the more unique CIS aircraft visiting DFW.

(note. not my first time on a.net. I joined in 1999 - hole_courtney -a.net has been my homepage since the caveman days of Pentium IIs, 640MB HDDs, and 16-color VGA. The future rocks, especially for DFW - can't wait to see more exotic aircraft!)

Unless more than one arrived in DFW I saw this one just before it left AEX for DFW. It arrived from TLS. A second AN124 arrived from Russia last night IIRC. I did not get to go see that one, as I was still on base at Ft. Polk.   AEX has been fairly busy this past week with military charters to.from Alaska and Hawaii.
