Quoting irishbean (Reply 2): Well done Ryanair, within hours as well, and they can have the routes flying in 2 weeks, Its great to see an Irish success story. With this it demonstrates they have so much muscle and ability to move quickly when opportunity knocks. |

Quoting Humberside (Reply 7): Out of the remaining 26, I've spotted at least one route, MAN, that isn't a Malev replacement |
Quoting gilesdavies (Reply 8): I think FR are also intending to open a base at the new Warsaw Moblin airport later this year |
Quoting gilesdavies (Reply 8): I wonder at what expense these four aircraft are being sourced from? As it's the winter, FR has a number of aircraft parked up. But I wonder if any aircraft are being pulled from other bases to open up BUD or will have an impact on future bases like PFO that are due to open soon? |
Quoting teahan (Reply 6): This is what I get from a quick scan of the booking engine for early May: 68 weekly frequencies with BUD based aircraft 12 with non BUD based aircraft (BRS, DUB, BLQ, BHX and 4 of 11 STN frequencies) = 80 ALC not bookable BCN 7x BHX (2x) //3//6/ BHX based aircraft BLQ (2x) //3///7 BLQ based aircraft BRS (2x) /2///6/ BRS based aircraft CRL 7x CHQ not bookable DUB (2x) /2///6/ DUB based aircraft EIN not bookable GSE 2x //3///7 LBC 2x /2///6/ FKB 2x 1///5// KRK 3x /2/4/6/ STN 7x STN (4x) 12/4/6/ STN based aircraft MAD 4x 1/3/5/7 AGP not bookable MAN 3x /2/4/6/ FMM 3x /2/4/6/ BGY 7x RYG 3x /2/4/6/ PMI not bookable PFO not bookable BVA 7x PSA not bookable RHO not bookable CIA 7x NYO 2x 1///5// SKG 2x //3///7 TPS not bookable TSF not bookable WMI not bookable (though WAW features in booking engine) |
Quoting teahan (Reply 9): Unfortunately most of the routes are not Malev replacements. They offered an excellent hub for connections to Central and Eastern Europe which will be very hard to replace. Places like Varna, Burgas, Sarajevo, Tirana, Pristina and Tivat have just become a lot harder and more expensive to reach. Austrian is the big winner. |

Quoting BA777 (Reply 19): Shame the MAD route will be done by BUD crews, would be a nice addition to us at the MAD base |
