Quoting sccutler (Reply 7): When my family and I flew to Tahiti on TN, there was a paying passenger on the right aft jumpseat - facing the lav door around a meter away. Overbooking - she was not amused. |
Quoting Braniff747SP (Reply 8): Then again, I'm on Airliners. Something tells me some would like to do it... I would, at least once. |
Quoting Airvan00 (Reply 10): My sister flew on Aero Mexico from LAX to ACA a long time ago. When they checked in and got seat allocation, the aircraft was a B722, but on getting aboard discovered that the aircraft was actually a B721 with a lot of rows missing at the back. The extra pax, which she was one, had to sit down on the floor for the flight. |
Quoting YYZAMS (Thread starter): PIA allows 2 people to fly in the washroom because there were no seats! |
Quoting Fly2HMO (Reply 18): AM never had 727s. Maybe it was MX, but I'd be shocked if either airline actually allowed this. It wouldn't shock me had it been any other shady Mexican airline, but certainly not MX or AM. |
Quoting rlwynn (Reply 23): I was on an MX flight in the early 80's where there was at least 10 people without seats scattered around the 727. |

Quoting sandyb123 (Reply 23): What would this have done for MTOW or centre of Gravity? Apart from the obvious issues no seatbelts, evacuation risk and general logistics of getting round the cabin, this sounds seriously suspect!? Sandyb123 |
Quoting reifel (Reply 28): Lately I've flown on LH from FRA to SIN. Some poor overbooked spanish guests had to sit on the aft jumpseats, with a big blanket from business class since it was so cold, eating the meal from the tablet without any table and staring to the lavatory door all flight... 13 hours or so... |

Quoting Fly2yyz (Reply 29): This was recently?! I didn't think pax sitting in jumpseat would ever be considered...or they would ever sell it as a revenue seat. |
Quoting milesrich (Reply 8): I was on an Aero Mexico flight from Tijuana to Puerto Vallarta in November of 1975 that was over sold and they put one person in a lav. |

Quoting milesrich (Reply 34): Come to think of it, AM didn't fly LAX-MEX nonstop or LAX-ACA, did they?. Wasn't that a Mexicana and Western route? Mexicana first had Comet 4C's and then 727's. AM only flew that route with multi stops like the flight I was on, i.e., LAX-TIJ-PVR-MZT-ACA. |

Quoting B2468 (Reply 38): How serious of a safety violation is this? I certainly understand the importance of having the lavs off-limits during takeoff and landing, and the important safety issues, however, I am very grateful to the cabin crew, since I was in no condition to remain in the cabin with other pax given my vomiting, and I also did not want to be responsible for delaying the arrival of a transpac long haul flight simply because of an upset stomach. |
