Quoting gilesdavies (Reply 11): I know this is the case on many routes EK operate, but just curious at how they generate this additional demand? |
Quoting cipango (Reply 3): Didn't think NCL had the runway length for the 77W. |
Quoting PlymSpotter (Reply 4): They brought one in for the NCL 75th anniversary. |
Quoting gilesdavies (Reply 11): The MAN or NCL A330's that have been freed up, would be ideal to kickstart the additional frequency. |
Quoting virgincrew (Reply 13): Also for the 75th anniversary, BA sent in a 744 |

Quoting danfearn77 (Reply 15): BHX is usually 2 years, give or take, behind MAN. Now, MAN got its 3rd daily last year, which would put BHX getting its 3rd early next year. However, MAN got the additional frequency more quickly than planned due to increases from EY and QR. They started it in June, but i think it was slated for an October start before that. So id say mid to late 2013 for a 3rd daily at BHX, but who knows. |
Quoting alangirvan (Reply 20): If NCL can support a bigger plane, how about more frequency? |
Quoting danfearn77 (Reply 15): The A330's are gradually being retired. Not sure of the time frame though. |
Quoting nclmedic (Reply 21): I think this could be overkill, at least in the interim. An A330 and a 77W service daily would be 404 additional seats a day from 278. The current plans are already a 45% increase in seats. Having both aircraft would be almost a 60% increase so right now this probably isn't needed. |

Quoting david_itl (Reply 24): Led to believe it's the weakest of the UK services |
Quoting danfearn77 (Reply 25): What were the last few months of CAA stats for this route? |
Quoting danfearn77 (Reply 27): With the introduction of more seats im sure they can offer a higher proportion of lower fare seats. |

Quoting LGWflyer (Reply 14): EK must now fly into nearly every major airport in the UK. With EK expanding every year I wonder if we could see them go to places like CWL or BFS etc... Haha as someone I saw post awhile ago that one day EK will be the national airline for Britain! |
Quoting ASA (Reply 30): except Latin America and Antarctica! |
