Is Bruce Dickinson Flying For An Airline Now?

Thu Feb 23, 2012 12:52 pm

After the last situation of Astraeus Airlines what is Bruce Dickinson doing?
Did he start to fly for any other airline?

Don't think so, at least not yet. He's been offering one-hour simulator sessions for anyone that wants to sign up and working on an Astraeus revitalization plan with many of the affected pilots. Maiden is coming to America on tour this summer (Can't wait!!!!), so it wouldn't surprise me if he's flying for an airline again in the fall.

Up the irons Bruce!!!!

Would be interesting to know if he has had to take on another type too. I understand he was flying 57’s for Astraeus which is becoming quite rate here in the UK, then again I suppose he could move over to the 67’s.

I’ve got to admit I’ve gained a fair bit of respect for the bloke as a pilot, not being much of a heavy metal fan I had no idea who he was when I saw the “Flying Heavy Metal” show for the first time. But watching more episodes and seeing more of him flying I get the impression that he is actually a very dedicated and talented pilot. The crews he flew with certainly seemed to have confidence in him anyway…

I recommend you to watch the documantary movie "Flight666" about their tour in 2008. It is very interesting to see him on stage in the evening and cockpit in the morning..

He flew the 737 before this so he could always go back to it.

It is only very rarely that we someone like this who has a love towards this industry - and specially one from a totally different industry. Let's hope that he's able to fly with someone soon.

I think I would feel more confident with Bruce at the controls than Ozzy
Although I respect their music equally!!

In case he wants to fly again with an airline, I really hope he has found a new nest!

Are we talking about THE Bruce Dickinson? I can't imagine Christopher Walken as an airline captain...

Surely Icelandair would be a good candidate!

What about Elaine Dickinson? She was a heck of a flight attendant.

He puts his pants on one leg at a time like everyone else

But seriously, no, this is a different Bruce Dickinson.

I'd rather have Katherine Jenkins on my flight personally!

I suppose John Travolta would have Oliva Newton John on his plane......

Best not go there, otherwise this post will get out of hand.
