Unknown F-27 At SPL & Fate Of PH-MCY & PH-BTG

Sun Mar 18, 2012 9:01 pm

Hello all,
Driving along the maintenance area at Schiphol East at march 17th, I noticed a Fokker F-27 Friendship. It has the registration N19EX. On the white fuselage were a few logo's of companies (also KLM). A/c had no propellers.
Is this an ex KLM/NLM bird which has returned home? I am curious to find out which F-27 this is, what she is doing at Schiphol and where she is going to.

Also on the same platform was Martinair Cargo MD-11 PH-MCY (cn 48445/460) parked. From this a/c all three engines were covered with plastic. Is PH-MCY (an ex SR bird HB-IWC) being prepared to leave the fleet? (Usually, wide-bodies are not seen on this platform). Last pic of this a/c in the database was from January 14, 2012

Third a/c on the platform was KLM''s B737-406 PH-BTG (cn 27233/2601) in full KL colours, but without logo's and titles. Registration was on white tape. It's obviously wfu. Was she the last series 400 to fly for KLM? Any ideas what her fate is (no pic available)

The F.27 was supposed to get a place in the pond at the entrance of the Fokker Business Park.
I am told however that the local authorities didn't give permission to do so and afaik know not much happend since the arrival last year November.

We have discussed this F27, (and the other 2 at Kemble) in this thread, and other threads in the Kemble folder.

You may find it interesting.

PH-MCY is said to be leaving the fleet in 2012, so yes, maybe days are over already for her.

According to airfleets, PH-MCY was to be bought be FX as N626FE, but was NTU.

Does anyone know why?. Would FX be interested now?.

It's cannibalized already; outer slats on left-wing and some other fairings removed already...don't know if this is permanent or temporary though...

PH-BTG is rumoured to go to Africa...

Thankz for the responses guys.
Before staring this topic I did a search in the database for (only) the registration N19EX on the F-27 but I got no hits. Obviously I should have tried more fields.
I am very curious to see what is going to happen with PH-MCY. Her position at the platform is easy to see from the public road. So if she gets further cannibalized on her present stand it will be noticable.
Probably we'll see PH-BTG (cn 27233/2601) with an other operator someday.
Thankz again for the reactions. As far as I am concernend I concider the topic closed.

The lease on MCY ends early 2013. If the economic climate does not change this year the aircraft will not fly until it is returned to its owner. MP is moving most African routes to the 744's.

I guess that the lease company will want it back in one piece.

Yes, that is the plan. There are no plans to dismantle the aircraft at AMS, although temporarily borrowing some parts may continue to occur.   Plenty of MD's left here that may occaisionally break down.
