RE: United/Cont. Existing Fleet Upgrade Status 12

Sun Aug 12, 2012 9:47 pm

United.com and flightAware confirm #3065 (last 764 Hawaii aircraft to need HKG maintenance visit) has ferried EWR-HNL-HKG. Looking for a return ferry of 3064, but haven't seen it yet.

Quoting CALPSAFltSkeds (Reply 49):
763 there is another ferry scheduled HNL-HKG 8/11 - Not sure of the aircraft number. Flight 6865/11Aug. Maybe N668UA is nearing completion at HKG.

Most likely this was an error as the flight did not depart and there is no old domestic 763 available.

Two photgraphs confirm N14562 in new UA Express livery - previously in the two blue livery. Expressjet are now repainting these aircraft.

The remaining Continental titled birds may be escaping detection!

Quoting qfatwa (Reply 46):
A photo confirms N11539 in UNITED Express titles - nine to go!

Has anyone updated information on the Silver Airways fleet please?

Regarding the Saabs:
Flying today 8/12) on United.com
Florida, N348AG, N447XJ, N351AG, N327AG, N344AG
IAD, N341AG
Planespotters also shows N3AG and N346AG, but maybe they are not flying on Sunday.

B1900 - following fleet numbers from UA.com, but don't know entire N number as Silver Airways doesn't show B1900s on Planespotters.
Florida, 875, 825, 165, 475
CLE, 695, 815

NOTE: gosilver.com has flight skeds, which can be input into United.com to verify operations and fleet number.

PMUA 772 N771UA is now ITPE, fleet number is now 2471. Work appears to have been done at SFO.

Great. Do you know if 753s will come in one a t a time for DTV after 3855? Assume they will be non-ETOPS units first.

What's the deal with 73G 3706? Been in MCO for E+ almost a month.

I am sure the CAL 757-300s will be done first now. The ex-ATA CAL 757-300s will need another STC if they get the same Mod.

N668UA just took off from HKG en route ORD with new lie flat 2 class configuration. Ferry flight 6869/18Aug.
Joins 671 and 674 in new configuration, even though these aircraft had had numerous mechanical issues.
669 & 675 are in HKG mod

Either N672UA or N676UA ferried SFO-HNL-HKG 8/16. Can anyone help with the registration number. Both 672 and 676 do not show activity on Flight Aware?

3 complete, 3 in mod, 8 still in domestic config. Expect N669UA to be complete within a week.

764
Still waiting for #3064 to ferry back to the States. Right now 3064 and 3065 are in heavy maintenance at HKG.

Does this mean 767-4 #3064 and 3065 will change the number of lie flat refits from 9 to 11?

It was rumored that the Hawaii aircraft would be reconfigured when #3066 was in HKG a long time, but that did not happen. So, expect #3064 and #3065 to remain in Hawaiiian configuration, at least for now.

With 3 UA international (old config) 772 non-ER going Hawaiian with recliners in F class, one could expect the 4 764s to get international configurations, but that is just speculation and wouldn't happen until the 772 retrofits begin in early 2013.

FYI: heavy maintenance swap a couple of days ago with 744 8475 (N175UA) exited PEK and 8407 (N107UA) entered PEK

#3064 sked for ferry 6849/21 HKG-HNL, then 144/21 HNL-IAD. As expected, seat maps show No E+.

Cross ferry 6850/20 HNL-HKG looks like it will be #3066, which was in HKG MX for 13 days between 6/8 and 6/21. #3063 and now #3064 will have had 30 day HKG visits. Is #3066 going back for more work that would require another 17 days? Seems a bit strange it wouldn't have been done in June.

It seems painting on the sUA side has grinded to a halt the last few months. I know they don't have a lot of slack during the summer but does anyone know when they might pick up again

according to this post on united hub we are off and they are off on a couple:
https://hub.united.com/en-us/News/Company-Operations/Pages/economy-plus-on-the-continental-fleet.aspx
as of Aug 15th, the major differences:
735 fleet they have listed as only having 16, so they mark it as complete!
772 fleet they have only 63% complete, but I suspect the above is correct (fyi: need to update the 22/22 = 100%)
739 fleet they have at 93% with 45 in the fleet vs above at 55, why the difference in 10+ frames in our list?

Let me assure you the post from qfatwa is correct.

The UA webpage is short 10 units in the 739 fleet, the 772s were completed this month.

The 735s have 16 completed E+ units. There may have been some confusion as 3 additional units (3804, 3612 & 3614) may have been on the chopping block until UA announced adding spare aircraft. At this time 2 are flying and the third, N17614, is in HOU and maybe there for exiting the fleet work, E+ or heavy maintenance. Time will tell as I'm sure the non E+ 735s and many more 735s will exit after peak summer and/or after new 739ERs are delivered (slated for 2 in Sept, 2 in Oct, 3 in Nov and 2 in Dec.)

IMO, with the 739ER & 737MAX order that we just announced this summer, I am thinking that with those replacing the sUA 752 fleet with the 739ER's, the 752 fleet may not be repainted as the 739ER's come in to replace them. It would not make sense, to me, to repaint a 752 in the globe livery when it is being replaced by the 739ER. So I am thinking that the 752 repaints on the sUA side is being stopped permanently. However, I could very well be incorrect, but that is the vibe I am getting.

Does anyone know when the phase out of the sUA first 752's is supposed to begin?

Just wait till the summer flying season is over. Maybe after Labor Day or shortly thereafter. This is a time to make money flying planes.

I know that. My point was that I don't think the sUA 752's are going through any more repaints due to the 739ER order (in which will begin deliveries next year, IIRC). It does not make sense to repaint the rest of that fleet, then phase them out.

My question still has not been answered:

What routes are the 3 767-400's in old configuration flying? The 3 with old sCO recliners as BF- in 2 class configuration.

Or does UA rotate them?

There are 4 in that configuration.
Right now there are two flying as two are in HKG.
When there were 4 flying, they were flying HNL-EWR, HNL-IAD, HNL-IAH and HNL-SFO and would expect something like this prior to the 772A conversion in early 2013.
Right now, for sure HNL-IAD is flown with one and I believe the HNL-SFO is the second aircraft.

Strange as United.com said #3064 was airborne/en route 6849/21 HKG-HNL, but now United.com says "On schedule" and new 6849/22 is scheduled with onward flight 1053/22 HNL-SFO showing 6849/22 as previous flight.
Cross ferry 6850/20 still shows "On schedule", but the re is a new is new 6850/21.

Wonder if #3064 departed, then returned HKG 8/21?

Hi Everyone. I just joined and this is my first post.
I know there are other United employees who post to this topic because i have seen direct quotes from United Daily.
Recently, it stated that there were 18 A-320's with the modified overhead bin. It did not give any tail numbers.
Maybe someone can help so the totals on here can be revised. Thanks.

It did not give any tail numbers.

Normally, they won't do that. The folks who write United Daily are not as "airplane nerdy" as we are....if that makes sense....

The only way you will find out which tails got the mods is to go in the airplane and look.

The ferry HKG-HNL is now enroute 6849/22
Return ferry 6852/21 #3066. Both heavy maintenance, no reconfigurations.

I see a discrepancy in need of resolution if someone can help. Records on this forum indicate that 5 of 5 ExpressJet ERJ-135s are in service and repainted with globe. Other sources show 7 aircraft flying for United Express but I can't confirm that with FlightAware. Does anyone know anything about numbers 6 and 7, which I think are N28529 and N29530? Thanks!

The United Fleets Website I update shows five ERJ 135s and none have flown since June 1, 2012 according to FlightAware. Aircraft 6 & & are not shown as they have not flown in 2012 at all.

You mean that no ERJ135s are in service? I saw one landing two weeks ago at IAH.

I'm mixing in the last flight that Flight Aware says the below aircraft have made. Not to say they are grounded for ever, or that there may be a computer glitch. Please correct me.
