good on them... well done, happy that FRA will be one of the early destinations...

BUT: can one stop calling this plane everywhere the "dreamliner"? I mean its a great great great machine but, its just a machine, and its "just" flying from A to B like other planes do as well, its not something magical.
Don't get me wrong, but it sound pretty marketing-tacky and "unprofessional" for me if the word dreamliner comes up in something official like a GFS or something. Was it the same back that "official" flight schedules or booking engines called the 747 "Jumbojet"? (sorry, i really don't know)

LAN starts 787 services to LAX this month, and MAD-FRA 4 months later? Why so far apart?

Great for LAN to replace their A340's to Madrid with 787's. When will Miami see the 787, Miami to Santiago is one of Lan's most visible routes.

The SCL-LIM-LAX route requires two 787s to operate daily and the SCL-LAX route will require one 787. LA602/LA603 operates 3x weekly on a seasonal basis from December through the end of March.

Good for LAN, MAD and FRA. I have to say though that I still have doubts about the 9 across seating on Y and the decreased seat width... For me, pax wise, the 767 is still the most comfortable plane LA has.

For the passenger, it is simply fantastic.

Apart from the fondness one can have (or not) for the name "Dreamliner", I like the fact that the plane is named something . It relates to what was done for example with the L1011 TriStar, the Caravelle, the Constellation, etc...

It adds to the personality of the plane. I appreciate that with the 787 this practice was reinstated. I hope it catches on.

I donĀ“t believe "Jumbojet" was ever an official name given by Boeing... it was (I believe) much more like an unofficial nickname. So it is really not comparable.

Regards,

LAN has not released inventory on the MAD-FRA-MAD sectors from 02APR13-30JUN13. However, it's bookable from 01JUL13 onwards.

Out with the old and in with the new...CC-CQG is no longer in service with LAN. CC-CQE will be phased out by October 2013 and CC-CQF will be phased out by December 2013.

If CQA and CQC where the first to arrive, why are the last to leave? Aren't these, somehow, "the oldest" in the fleet? Or the other two were in worse condition or have more cicles or something?

I wonder why the name "Worldliner" for the 777-200LR never caught on.

It appears LA will not be operating MAD-FRA-MAD at all in Q2. Instead, they are applying for codeshare rights with IB on this sector.

So LA will probably be the fifth 787 operator into FRA from July 1st, after NH, ET, AI and QR.
