Qantas 744 With Boxing Gloves

Mon Dec 10, 2012 8:27 pm

On Friday evening 11/23/2012, this was my ride from Los Angeles to Brisbane. Ironically, a week later, I flew the same exact plane from Brisbane back to Los Angeles on 12/2/2012. Just asking out of pure ignorance, but what Australian boxing team is being referred to with the logo? Thanks for any insights!!!

This is for the Australian Team at the London Olympics.

But I only just noticed this, but it says, 'Spirit of the Australian Team'.

Flying may not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price.

Awesome. And, duh -- on my part; I should've been able to figure that out! Sorry the picture wasn't a little clearer; but I thought the 'Spirit of the Australian Team' was a nice touch.

The aircraft was revealed to the public leading up to the London 2012 Olympics... The Boxing Kangaroo was in support of the Australian Olympic Team & Qantas being the proud sponsor chartered the aircraft to London and on the return leg the aircraft was ferried to LHR via LAX...

Quoting bsu747 (Reply 2):

Australian Olympic Team not Boxing Team...

Thanks for any insights!!!

Also, a quick search of the registration (in the search box at the top right of the webpage) will return a few photos that contain a brief description of the livery.
