Britair (DB) White Livery

Fri Jan 04, 2013 4:06 pm

I have seen today several Britair (DB) planes with an all-white livery: F-HMLL, F-HMLM, F-GRJO. Until now, they were all in the new Air France by Britair livery (see database). Could this be in anticipation of a new 'Air France Regional' livery introduced simultaneously with the reorganization of the regional pole of Air France (Regional Airlines, Britair and Airlinair) later this month ? Any other possibility ?

Hello,

Regional has also an E70 (F-HBXB IIRC) and an ER4 (F-GRGM) in all-white livery. We have to keep in mind that 1 CRJ-1000, 2 CRJ-100s, 3 ERJ-170s, 2 ERJ-145s and 5 ATR-42s will leave the fleet very soon. So there are 2 possibilities. Either as you said these airliners will be the first to get the new scheme or they are ready to go to another operator.

I understand why the other planes should leave the fleet, but why the one CRK? Those frames are pretty new and not exactly the most wanted on the market, so where would it go?

I also do not understand, for the E70s either. The fleet of the three carriers will be downsized from 93 to 86 airliners this year. 2 CR7s, 1 E90 and 5 AT7s will join the fleet shortly. Note that here is a msitake in my reply 1 : 4 CRJ-1000s will leave the fleet and not 2.

Two factory-fresh CRJ700s? I thought a 100-seat CRK would be better as a low-CASM aircraft, but maybe the CR7s are better suited for smaller airports...?

I don't know if the expected airliners are new or second-hand. We shall get some news during the official announcement of HOP! on january 28th (HOP : The New Brand Of The Air France Feeders)

BritAir ordered 14 x CRJ1000, but the 14th aircraft is still not delivered - 10 months have passed since number 13 arrived. Perhaps the 14th aircraft have been converted to two CRJ700 instead...?

Will be interesting to see how HOP turns out.

As seen today, Britair CRJ-1000 F-HMLN is also in an all-white livery. That makes at least 3 of them devoid of titles or livery. As only one should leave the fleet, this is probably in preparation for the new HOP livery. Let's wait January 28th and hope not to be disapointed by the new livery ...
