Quoting zhiao (Thread starter): I hope they get some new A330s and 767s quick |
Quoting AA737-823 (Reply 1): Why would you replace an old 763 with an identical airplane? |
Quoting zhiao (Thread starter): I hope they get some new A330s and 767s quick because the 789 is frankly too large and will arrive too late. |

Quoting zhiao (Thread starter): It says that on Wikipedia that half of the said fleet will be gone in a few years. What will replace all this capacity? I hope they get some new A330s and 767s quick because the 789 is frankly too large and will arrive too late. |

Quoting qqflyboy (Reply 5): There's no question. AA has made their fleet plans well known, and going forward AA's fleet will consist of the 773, 772, 789, 738, A321 and A319. It will take a while to get there, but that is the plan. In the near term the 762s are being replaced by A321s in 2014. The 763 will be replaced by the 772 and 789. The 757s are being replaced by 738s and A321s. The MD-80s are being replaced by 738s and A319s. |
Quoting BlueSky1976 (Reply 2): A330 is not an identical airplane. |
Quoting etops1 (Reply 3): They have some A330's that might be joining the fleet |

Quoting american 767 (Reply 11): By then the 772 retirement will have begun. |
Quoting JAAlbert (Reply 12): Quoting american 767 (Reply 11): By then the 772 retirement will have begun. Does AA intend on replacing its retiring 772s with new 772s or will the type leave the fleet entirely? |

Quoting AAIL86 (Reply 14): They do have 772's still on the order books but I think we all know that those won't be delivered as 772s - probably converted to 77Ws or otherwise converted. |

Quoting gigneil (Reply 7): The 789 is the size of an A330-200 |
Quoting OB1504 (Reply 19): One possibility is that AA may reconfigure its older 772s to a high-density configuration and deploy them on some of the former AB6 routes which are very cargo-heavy. |
