Hi all,
does anybody know how the number of low cost airlines developed exactly after 9/11?
Literature says that it increased by about 30% in the first year after the attacks but it would be interesting to have some more detailed statistics.

Wasn't the EU Single Market for Aviation also developed around 2002, enabling FR, U2, etc. to base planes outside their respective home countries?

Well, I think the big European Union 'eastern' expansion contributed to this growth.
