F9 @ YYC? Reason?

Wed Apr 17, 2013 5:04 pm

Hi All,

Just had a pic posed in our local YYC Spotters FB page, of a Frontier E190 at the terminal. Any idea... Charter?

Prpbably has to do with F9s casino charters.

F9 planes (trading as "Republic Airlines") have been doing a lot flying for Harrah's and The Tropicana in Laughlin Nevada lately.

There was an F9 E190 at SJC the other day as well.

The word I heard was that they are operating the Laughlin casino charters. Seen them in YYC a few times now this season.

On another note, we just had the new livery AA 738 come and go today.

I have seen Allegiant aircraft at YYC before doing casino charters too.

Anyone know how the proposed tower closure in KIFP (the airport they use to fly these casino charters into and out of Laughlin) will effect operations?

Republic picked up the Harrah's casino charter contract that Allegiant used to have. This operation is handled entirely by the Republic side of the company and is completely unrelated to Frontier, other than the paint on the planes. Eventually, these planes will likely be painted into a different livery.
Good goes around!
