US is only receiving A321's . Right now the only Airbus outfitted with sharklets are the 319/320.

That makes sense, I thought they were still recieving 320's. Well, once again I am wrong, it happens quite often. Thanks!!!

Is there a sharklet refit program, or will there be one in the future?

I'm willing to bet that some birds in the fleet will get sharklets at one point.

From about mid year 2012 the A 321 should be equipped with wings prepared for sharklets. That would mean US would be able to fit sharklets to 19 already delivered A 321 starting with MSN 5235 after the sharklets for the A 321 have been certified.

Only A 320 (CFM + IAE) and A 319 (CFM) are already certified, but two development A 321 development aircraft are already outfitted with sharklets. Certification is expected later this summer for A 319 (IAE) and A 321 (CFM + IAE)

321 is still in sharklet certification stage.
I don't understand everything I don't know about this.

Are Spirit and JetBlue the only two U.S. carriers with sharklet equipped Airbuses? Are JetBlue's modifications or factory equipped?

But they're still outfitted with them...

Frontier's first goes into service in July. It was first seen at XFW on its test flights mid-June, but not painted then apart from the engine cowlings:

The A321 pictured is not in revenue service . There are no Sharklet equipped A321's in revenue service or being delivered with Sharklets . Therefore , answering the op question . The A321's currently being delivered to US do not have Sharklets . Only AC being delivered with Sharklets at this time to any operator are the A320 and so far 1 A319 to AA that has yet to be delivered .

Jet blue has the first modified A320, MSN 5417 and a second modified, MSN 5349. The first factory fitted will be MSN 5677 not delivered jet.

VirginAmerica has one A 320 with factory fitted sharklets, MSN 5515.

Spirit has two A 320 with factory fitted sharklets, MSN 5517 and MSN 5624.

Frontier has one A 320 with factory fitted sharklets, MSN 5661.

AA is receiving there first A 319 with sharklets, MSN 5678, in July.

I get that, but it's a little different than what you first stated.

Either way:

It may be possible in the future for US to take delivery and/or modify part of their fleet for them, but I don't believe they have any plans to at the moment.

By the time US decides to retrofit some A32Xs with Sharklets, the older birds will have started being phased out. With the merger mania going on, I think AA management will hold off on retrofitting the A32Xs and, IMO, will prefer to phase them out in favor of more 737s. Only the newer birds (say...2010 onwards) may see Sharklets (but that's just me speculating).

The new A 319 AA is receiving will have sharklets. If the A 321s for US will be used on longish routes, the sharklets make still more sense. US has already about 19 A 321 which are easy to retrofit.
I expect them to take sharklets with the new ones after certification and retrofit the birds delivered after about June 2012.

I believe a few of the older A320's have been lease returned recently (or are slated to be returned soon).........I could be wrong here but I believe a couple will leave the West fleet soon.

A few were retired in the '07-08 timeframe. I believe they were going to return 3 of the -231s (presumably ships 620-622) but opted instead to retire 3 767s for this year. Don't know what this means for the next 3 west 321 deliveries since they've been 1-for-1 replacements up to this point.

There is and JetBlue will be first customer at least in North America starting next year.
