Quoting n471wn (Reply 13): I fear you are right and just found out that an American Airlines pilot was in the jump seat as the cabin was full......his perspective will be very interesting I am sure to the NTSB |
Quoting okie (Reply 16): I wonder if he was considered crew or passenger as the crew/passenger injuries do not line up the best I can tell. I had speculated in the original post about the jump seater but did not know what airline the pilot was working for. The AA pilot might have something to say about the dynamics going on up front but I suspect he/she will be pretty quiet. One does not want to damage the jump seat privileges for the future. The jump seater may have not been paying much attention since they were not in control of the aircraft considering the 10K sterile cockpit rule. |

Quoting PROSA (Reply 21): Assuming that the aircraft is indeed a write-off, what will happen to it? Will it be made flyable and flown to one of the aircraft "graveyards" in the southwest, or will it be cut up on-site |
Quoting n471wn (Reply 22): If it is DBER it will be cutup at LGA----if they make it flyable again then it would return to service |
