Video Of Student Pilot/Instructor Emerg Landing

Tue Sep 03, 2013 9:45 pm

Great video insight into an emergency light aircraft landing in Queensland Australia during student pilots first flight and his 22 year old instructor calmly managing the situation from within the aircraft.

As reported in the article - these are the type of people you would like in the cockpit of your aircraft

Well done. Pitch for best glide, manage the situation, land the aircraft. Textbook flying.

Yes. And the PIC remained cool and calm and in control through the whole thing, as did the student

Good one !

Amazingly well done and, lots of tree hazards around whilst searching for that one opportunity.

Sadly weve had three recent light aircraft failures around the UK all with total loss of life including one today near Jersey. It doesnt always go to plan although, we dont always know their circumstances.

This is a very pleasing and uplifting video but i also wish to add a sincere RIP to those others who didnt make it.

Kudos to those guys. Staying as calm as they did in that situation is very impressive.

Was this aircraft a home-built? I've never seen a panel or control stick like that before.

Great flying with a best that could be expected outcome.

Nice job. Note that they were fortunate enough to slide to the right of that tree (straight ahead of them on touchdown)

Very impressive flying! That was about the only place they could have put it down too.

No, it's a Jabiru. Company from Australia. It looks a bit odd, but took about all of 2 minutes to get used to it and have no problems with it, for me, when I flew a Jabiru.

Awesome video. That instructor did an excellent job of remaining cool and calm and flying the airplane all the way to the landing spot. There is so much that goes into being prepared for those situations. It sucks that people have to be in those situations but it is always nice to see the training pay off.

If you couldn't see out the windshield in that video, you might think that they landed perfectly normally on an airstrip.

Well done, sirs.
