Transaero Hints At A380 Routes

Wed Sep 18, 2013 8:53 am

The Deputy General Director of Transaero Airlines said the company's A380s will serve high-density, tourist-denominated routes like Spain (think about BCN, AGP, ALC and TFN), Thailand (BKK and HKT) and Dubai (DXB). The "highly popular" Moscow to Vladivostok (VVO) flight will also see A380 service when it demands it.

hardly anything surprising given their configuration. Still, I reckon it'd be fun to fly a higher density A380.

no surprises.... Will crew be trained on these flights or should we expect new crew training flights only?

As corrected by a commentator on the site you provided, it should be TFS, not TFN.

High density won't be as bad as it sounds. The aircraft will have less F and J seats, thus more room for Y seats. Seat width and pitch will remain the same.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but is there any info about Transaero's possible 747-8i order? When Transearo ordered the A380s they said they would place an order for 748i's as well, but I haven't heard much about that since. Might have missed that though, earlier this year I was 3 months on remote parts of the world without much internet...

They placed a MoU with Boeing in 2011 but haven't firmed it up yet.

Good to see A380's enter this market as well.

I expect that eventually the second-hand A380 which will enter the market some a few years will perform for similar operators as well.

It would be some big operation in the holiday destinations if one of these A380's arrives in an peak of inbound / outbound flights.

700 seats returning from all you can eat/drink paradise vacations, there going to need a holding cell on board, I'm exaggerating of course, but I bet there gonna need some extra secuirty people on these flights.

Where are these jets going to be based out of? IIRC, Transaero has large operations at both Moscow-Vnukovo (VKO)and Moscow-Domodedovo (DME). Both will have brand new terminals, and I know for sure that DME's is A380 capable.

I was at Antalya Airport last sunday. 2 Transaero 744s where boarding. Total mahem. You should have heard the announcements on the PA system calling for people to board their planes. They were calling out a least 20 names per flight. Every bar was full of sun-burned Russians (and I mean burned, not tanned) making an awful racket.

Interesting to see, but they will have to move to T1 then, because T2 (where they currently operate) does not have any A380 capable gate.

So they either move to T1, or park in the T2 ramp or continue using the 744 gate and only deplane/board using the lower deck.

Boarding should be interesting lol.
