New Brand And Livery For Thomas Cook

Tue Oct 01, 2013 8:08 am

How do you guys like it? The new "sunny heart" brand:

I think it looks great, but I miss the good old blue a little bit. But the combination of the colours looks nice.

The grey doesn't do it for me, to be honest. Maybe it'll look better in the flesh (or metal).

Also, given the "off aircraft" logo heart is complete I wonder why it's clipped on the tailplane.

"V" for Ving it would seem.

I don't like it .. .grey and yellow is sorta a vueling cls and expecially grey is quite the opposite of a holidayish / leisure etc colour ... You can be classy and leisureish alltogether, yes, but not via grey.

I'm not keen, unfortunately.

I thought that the livery could do with a refresh (afterall the blue underbelly is a holdover from JMC!) but I felt that the Globe logo still had a lot of life in it.

And if you are going to go with a "sunshine" theme, where does grey come into that?!? Surely that colour is the antithesis of sunshine!

I think this livery in Scandinavia will cause problems as its very similar to Primera Air Scandinavia! I would imagine Primera Air are not too happy!

I really don't liked it I thought there livery was great as it.

Does anybody know if they are planning to update their hard product?

Having recently flown TCX and TOM there is a clear difference in service and product and would be more inclined to travel with TOM if flying charter

I like it. Dark grey yellow and bright white go well together for a fresh yet sophisticated look. Much like the Royal Brunei livery recently released.

Others may not like it but I find it a really tasteful livery design with very successful colour balance in the location of the yellow. Leaving most of the fuselage white makes the squat Condor aircraft look less squat to me and more elegant to the eye.

Two thumbs down!

The yellow heart, on the existing blue tail, would have been gorgeous.

Yellow and grey - no way!

I was wondering about the same thing. It looks like Thomas Cook looks more like Primera Travel Group. They actually looks so alike that I could have thought they are part of the same ownership group. But it seems like they are still different owners.

Now one could have used dark blue instead of the darker grey, but then I am happy about any piece of yellow coming back to Condor so I like it. Sunny heart is a good logo for a holiday carrier imho.

Dull and boring livery. It's holiday charter and people want to get out from the grey to sunshine, then why not put some cheerful colors to it! Looks more like a business mans airline.

Am I the only poor sod who gets Thomson Airways, Thomsonfly and Thomas Cook hopelessly confused?

I suppose the new non-blue livery will help.

Vueling is one of the worst. Most of their a/c look grimy and filthy.

It's not bad. I do think keeping the blue and adding the yellow heart would have looked nicer, imo.

However I am not a fan of the heart. I don't think that was the best tail logo but being honest I don't know what is.

Wow, it seems like I am the only one here who REALLY hates this livery.

Yellow and gray is a bad color combination, as some other people mentioned. Then that heart on the tail just seems odd and...well I just don't like it overall, it's hard to explain. If I could find one thing that's "good" about this livery, you could say it's more "creative" than the airline name in a circle on the tail. Some blue would be a lot better, though.

I can't imagine how bad a DE 767 coming into LAS with that livery would look. I know this doesn't necessarily work for TCX, but the condor of DE's logo (the one in a circle that looks like Lufthansa's), yellow, with a blue background - on the tail - would look pretty decent.

I just hope airlines stop changing their liveries. But anyways, that's just my opinion.

Fresh and unintrusive. Not bad, in the given examples next to the aircrafts, the branding works quite well and that's all that matters.

Imagine a Condor Airbus, in new colors, parked next to a Primera 737, it would be easy for one to assume they were part of the same company.

Hi there!

Thomas Cook's livery was, from my point of view, by far not dated enough to need a makeover...the new livery looks rather blunt and boring.
But hey...maybe it will grow on me...having an office across from their hangar in FRA, I will end up seeing it a lot, so who knows.
As long as they do not kill "Condor" as the brandname on the side of the fuselage, there is still hope. ;o)

I really like it a lot!

Colors are great.

I don't think it looks like Vale (Vale was done by Lippencott in NYC) same agency that did the new Delta and new United design work based off their 1991 Continental design. If it does remind me of another "V" symbol it is a large supermarket chain, ironically also Brazilian, called Zona Sul. I don't have the link, but it is exactly the same, except Zona Sul is red.

I'm not a fan. I don't think the heart is appropriate for a holiday company despite what that CEO tries desperately to associate it with.

In my humble opinion I think brands should have some evolution and never actually change too much.

I've never flown Thomas Cook airlines and that livery hasn't brought it into my must-do list.

The heart is from Group brand Ving.

The Yellow from Condor and that grey is refreshing and modern.

I like it and frankly in reality the group is much larger than the UK Thomas Cook brand alone.

I like the livery, but the similarity with Primera, and even JetTime annoys me. Now we have three charter companies with very similar liveries here in Scandinavia, plus the occational Vueling mixed in there too.
