Yes, it is N935AT, she arrived in Atlanta last night around 6pm. Landed on 26R, taxied down to the TechOps ramp before turning around and heading to South Cargo. Not sure if the TechOps ramp was full, or what was going on...

There are photos online on the *cough* other aviation photo site...

The site shut down with a final message on the front page. I'm sure there were some threads here. Very sad, it was such a great site!

Quoting widgetheads.net:
Dear Fellow Widgetheads,

I regret to inform you that Widgetheads.net has shut its doors for good. This decision was made due to circumstances that are out of my control. However, the decision has absolutely nothing to do with any legal issues regarding Delta Air Lines. Please do not contact me offering assistance in any way, including financial or informational. There is no way to bring Widgetheads.net back online. I want to thank everyone who has visited the site over the past years, and especially those that contributed. As I've said many times before, this site would have not gotten as far as it did if it wasn't for you. Its status was more than I could have ever imagined. So again, thank you for your support. I am very aware of the impact that this has on the aviation community. Please trust that I would not have done this if there was any possible way to stop it. Don't let the actions of this website stop you from following the greatest airline on the planet. I trust that all of you widgetheads never lose the Delta Spirit. May the Widget live on forever!

Sincerly,
Justin

how long to you think it is before they take a DC-50,MD-88,MD-90 and 717 and do a picture showing 50 years of Douglas Jets....I know they are totally different airplanes but i'd be curious to know if Anything 5-10% of the jet is the same when the 717's were built in 2000 vs a DC-9 built 30 years earlier...

HAH. They are NOT totally different airplanes.

You have yourself a DC9-30 right there. Its physically nearly identical. The systems are modernized, but largely the plane isn't changed.

At some point by December? I think DL would be incredibly remiss not to capture this opportunity.

The DC-9-50 looks horrible in the current DL paint scheme. Makes the paint job look cheap. Glad to see the 717 looking so awesome. Better placement of the widget on the tail and the larger DELTA titles makes the scheme look great on the 717. I don't use EWR so I won't be seeing the 717 there. Looking forward to the 717 passing through LGA and JFK.

Actually at F/Y 110 seats you copy a DC9-40. The -40 fuselage is 6 feet 6 inches longer than the -30. Northwest and Delta flew the -40 at 110 seats with 16F.

Chris, that depends on how you define "for some time." Eight or nine days?

While the primary route for the 717 will be ATL - EWR, on November 2, the 717 will begin flights between Atlanta and Little Rock and throughout the month of November, the 717s will operate flights from Atlanta to/from Cleveland, Detroit, and Panama City (ECP) as well.

LIT on the 717 seems to be Saturday only service and the following weekend has even fewer 717 ATL-LIT flights than the 2nd.

DTW is also Saturday only in November for 717 flights.

CLE starts NOV 1 and some days has more 717 flights than others.

ECP begins Nov 4 and is varied on time the flights are from day to day sometimes and frequency.

Very well stated. Unfortunately, there is a company that monitors this site closely that probably quashed Justin. Threat of legal action and a demand that this corporation not be named contributed to the demise. So much for free speech. At this company (unnamed) free speech means not saying anything. "Widget" is a copyrighted symbol and phrase and the company that owns it enforces their ownership jealously. They do not care if the interest is hobby-related or negative.

I hope MYR gets to see the 717. Right now we have 2x MD-88s and 3-4 CRJ-200s (4th operates 5 times per week). I'd be totally cool with that going to either a mixture of 717s and MD-88s or any other type of mainline aircraft. With the CRJ phaseouts, I imagine we'll be seeing CRJ-700/900s on the schedule eventually (we do in the summer, in addition to the MD-88s and CRJ-200s).
The views I express are my own and do not reflect the views and opinions of my company.

Here is what it looks like the schedule will be:

Airplane #1:

2343 - ATL 0730 EWR 0940
2343 - EWR 1030 ATL 1252
2042 - ATL1345 EWR 1606
2042 - EWR 1645 ATL 1916

Airplane #2:

1798 - ATL 1000 EWR 1213
1798 - EWR 1300 ATL 1526
2142 - ATL 1630 EWR 1851
2142 - EWR 1940 ATL 2159

They're keeping it simple, as they can keep the airplanes overnight in ATL in case any maintenance needs pop up. I would guess the crew are just flying turns for now - although Saturday schedules are screwy and I don't know if they need people up at Newark for Saturday departures that will be off this rotation.

Pictures are a must - inside and out!

It looks really good, inside AND out! N935AT has been doing familiarization runs here in LIT lately twice a day (DAL9970 and DAL9971) from ECP and ATL. I've shot several photos of her and submitted one here and several on myaviation.net. As a WN employee I was glad to NOT get them but I was really happy to know I'll still get to see them here in LIT! I was told LIT-ATL service will start on November 1st!

There's a photo on the internal site of the first 717, an MD88 (ship 905), a DC9, and the last MD90 to be delivered all lined up.

Hopefully they'll post it through a press release would be nice for you guys to see that one.
