Thanks for the videos Karel- looking at FR24 playback, the aircraft went substantially faster on the days after the flutter video was recorded(looked like oct23) so I suspect the flutter tests are indeed over. However I am curious why we have not seen a more detailed press release giving the dive speeds and mach- this is a major step for the program. Perhaps this is part of the less talk more work strategy the program seems to be following.

I think that could be a fair conclusion.

And I think the "less talk, more work" approach seems to be working very well at present.  .

So we could book the time for AIB24GG as starting at 16:18 and ending at 20:58.

The Raccoons are getting near to 625 block hours, and that would be a quarter of the projected 2,500 hours.

Atthe rate it is going the test campaign will easilly be able to do over 2500 hours. One point is that the 2500 probably included a reasonable amount of retest flying. So far there does not appear to have been much of that.

Could we actually see a test campaign that takes shorter than planned? And a certification in less than a year, for the first time in quite a few years?

(there was a remainder of when certif took less than a year, by Viscount724 in the CSeries thread:

Quote:

Examples - first flight to first delivery:

DC-9 - less than 7 months.
727 - less than 9 months.
737 - less than 9 months.
747 - less than 10 months.
757 - slightly over 10 months.
767 - less than 11 months.
777 - 11 months.
DC-10 - 11 months.

Aircraft systems have become much more complex since the likes of the original 747 flight test campaign. I am not surprised that testing takes longer now. The key so far seems to be in the preperation. Airbus has invested heavilly in their off flight testing and also in the power and support at the base of tests and test results. They thus seem to be coming into this campaign with a higher level of maturity (things can still appear though) and the ability to interpret result sets quickly and implement software changes effectively.

Still a way to go but so far I would say the A350 maturity ans test campaign merit an A*

They are still doing the artificial ice campaign. I suspect that there are quite a few scenarios to cover off when doing this testing.

Does anyone know if the natural icing is used to confirm the result from the artificial icing tests and so not the full test scenarios are required.
