This has got to be one of, if not the most stunning Boeing 737 out there! She looks fantastic, way to go WestJet! The aircraft's due to enter service tomorrow, 03 December 2013 flying from Calgary to Orlando. She was painted up at Everett (PAE) and used to be the "Care-antee" special cs aircraft...

"WestJet and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts (Canada) today pulled back the curtain on their most exciting adventure yet -- a custom-painted Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 series aircraft featuring Mickey Mouse in his most famous role, Sorcerer Mickey."

Fun facts about the Magic Plane:

The two sides of the aircraft are mirror images of each other in all aspects but one. We'll leave it to our guests to decide what that is!
There are a total of 36 different paint colours on the aircraft.
It took a team of 26 people 24 days working around the clock to paint the Magic Plane.
The painting crew consumed more than 150 doughnuts over the 24 days.
The painting crew consisted of people from four countries, five states, two provinces and 12 cities.
The cookies that will be served on board are a special treat in the shape of Disney characters.
Over the next five years, the Magic Plane will fly more than 400,000 guests a total of nearly eight million kilometres.

All I can say is that so far, that is one of the most fantastic liveries I have seen out there.. It's just.. so cool... Now if only the seats had the headrest covers with disney characters on it.. and if only they flew to RDU...

WOW!! Would definitely love seeing this come in to land at YYZ on Rwy 23 on a nice sunny day in winter (always cloudy otherwise)....Otherwise it's usually an endless parade of WS 737s!!

Maybe 150 dozen donuts - that's almost 3 per person per day, and sounds a little more believable.

In my opinion it's obviously the Disney Castle. On both sides, the castle's tower is on the right. They probably did it so they could use the same decal or stencil. As a result, all the flags blow in the wrong direction on the starboard side.

Not a big detail, but I remember we had threads here on A.net about how some planes have the US flag blow the wrong direction on the side of some planes, and some posters in these threads got pretty nervous and worked up about this detail.

While not disney characters, the headrests have little Disney sparkles embroidered on them. The only question with this, is what will happen to the interior when wear and tear kicks in, and half of the plane doesn't have the special headrests?

Because Care-antee was a horrible, horrible special livery. And that was also a slogan that was part of the previous CEO, and is no longer being used.

I strongly disagree. The livery was wonderful and the slogan was quite clever and warm.

This Disney livery is probably the best of it's type so kudos WestJet. It's beautiful!

Do you work at WS? Doesn't matter whether you agree or not. Every Westjetter I've talked to hated it and wanted it to disappear. It was from the SD era and they want to forget it. We'll guess what....they now charge for some bags and the Carentee has since disappeared.

This is by far the best looking scheme!!!

Agreed. Not to mention an awkward name; care-antee does not always bring to mind guarantee and if it does, it seems meaningless unless you knew the context, and more travellers likely did not.

Then your issue is with the airline, not with the design and phrase.

Let me clarify my stance. The livery was visually appealing and the motto was clever and "cute" from a graphic design and marketing point of view. I am entitled to that opinion, especially as one who is in the business.

I understand the fact that the airline did not follow through with their promise damaged their image and campaign, HOWEVER if they were to keep their promise the livery and slogan would have been fine.

I don't care about Westjetters, I'm talking specifically about the idea itself.

The Main tower is on the right on both sides of the aircraft, because the front of the castle is depicted on both sides of the castle. The highest tower is always on the right side of the castle when facing the front no matter what park your at.

Nice livery, one of the best out there in my opinion!!! Is there a website where you can track this aircraft which routes it will be flying a few days ahead or which route(s) it is flying at the moment (flight tracking)? Flightaware and Flightradar24 don't always give the latest routes flown.

I don't know whether you have access or knowledge of WestJet's aircraft scheduling but do you know whether WestJet is planning on sending this aircraft to CUR as well? At the moment they are using the 73G to CUR and AUA but I was wondering if they will sub this aircraft if bookings are well. If so, can you keep me informed?

WestJet has stated pubically that this aircraft slated for system wide flying so aside from day one YYC-MCO-YYC any other YYC-MCO routing since is by coincidence. Shes already been to LAX, LAS, SAN, PSP, CUN, YYZ, YEG, YVR and several others. CUR is served via YYZ in a -700 so I wouldnt expect a -800 and inperticular C-GWSZ to arrive there anytime soon.
