Jetblue Announces Codeshare With Silver Airways

Thu Dec 05, 2013 12:22 am

This should give B6 access to the smaller FL markets and some Bahamian markets.

It should mirror the relationship it has with 9K in BOS. Good move by B6 especially with 9K ending the RSW-EYW flights that gave B6 customers access to EYW.

jetblue's 30th partner, and for the 29th time (?), we'll have a discussion of how this is just an interline agreement, not a codeshare. (I don't see mention of codeshare in the link)

it says you will be able to earn trueblue points on Silver. so as usual, it's not "just" an interline; it's more enhanced than that.

Still hoping we will see some mainline metal on MCO/TPA-FLL, to enhance the connectivity down in FL.
JetBlue E190 seats, 5D and 16A= no better place in the world

I continue to be perplexed about why B6 has not yet connected MCO and TPA to FLL, specifically to get passengers to/from the Caribbean and C/S America through FLL. It would offer marginal revenue on already-profitable FLL flying to ethnic destinations.

That said, maybe B6 does just fine filling up its FLL flights with O&D, why dilute the yields with connecting traffic? (Although I would assume NYC/BOS/DCA provide significant feed).

I'm wondering with this deal going, if Silver will now start RSW-FLL. They announced it earlier this year, but never started it.

Will TLH be included in the codeshare? Connections are available from TPA, MCO & FLL.

Just wondering what this deal means for the future of Silvers relationship with UA?

Why would this change the relationship? Most regional affiliate carriers fly for several mainline partners.

There is no more Express agreement for the Florida markets.

The flights are marketed as Silver and one can interline but not codeshare or fly under the United Express name.

Currently Silver is operating out of FLL's Terminal 1 - Concourse C. Will Silver make the move to Concourse F where Jetblue has all of its flights?
