Quoting ASA (Reply 49): does this mean Istanbul as a city of O&D and transit opportunities can support 2000 flights ... or the current IST airport capacity can be increased to 2000 flights if needed? |
Quoting OA260 (Reply 52): Not good news ! Hopefully it can be resolved or it will be a mess. |
Quoting sirtoby (Reply 53): So what's up with the A321neo's? LEAP or GTF? |
Quoting LAXintl (Reply 54): TK has used the 2000 figure several times before. Its the volume of flying they believe traffic demand can support and a comfortable number for TK to grow to. Remember TK has no where near 1200 flights at IST, that is their system wide number. IST today for example had 396 departures. |
Quoting HB-IWC (Reply 61): Apparently, TK is leasing yet more A330 equipment. 9W A332 VT-JWL is set to become TC-JIM and has already left the Jet Airways fleet. I presume that there will be more than just one A332 involved in this 9W lease. Anyone with more info? |

Quoting LAXintl (Thread starter): . IST easily swept past MAD is now in the #5 spot for Europe, with only about 1 million passenger separation from Amsterdam. Quite conceivable that #3 Frankfurt could also be passed in a couple years. |
Quoting TK105 (Reply 30): DHMI's newly published January 2014 passenger figures show that 2014 will at least keep the performance of 2013: Turkey 22.3% IST 15% ( 16% Int) SAW 46% ( 52% Int) %u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026..Waawww ESB 21% ( 23% Dom) ADB 14% ( 26% Int) AYT 10% |

Quoting TK105 (Reply 67): Interesting news. TK is wet leasing 4 A388 to be used for JFK, LHR, PVG and PEK routes for summer season: |
Quoting sirtoby (Reply 68): I guess they will come from Emirates as they have to park some of their aircraft due to the fact that one runway at DXB will shut down for renovation. |
Quoting LondonCity (Reply 69): I can understand the long-haul routes ... But LHR ? Isn't that a bit extreme. Can TK find the space at LHR for an A380, bearing in mind it requires special airbridges for the best passenger handling ? |

Quoting ist2014 (Reply 59): 757 replacement with good range can open new markets as well.for starting flights to US east cost such as PHL , EWR or new indian cities (if bilateral changes)or for adding frequencies to Washington, Chicago even maybe JFK (3rd daily flights in winter or 4th in Summer) or BKK , Dakka, Lagos |

Quoting Turkish777X (Reply 79): That is good, if they were going to be delivered without cabin reconfig. |
Quoting HB-IWC (Reply 78): According to skyliner-aviation.de, the two remaining ex GF A332, which were to become TK's TC-JNU and TC-JNY will now be going to Hi Fly of Portugal instead. |
Quoting Turkish777X (Reply 80): They seems to be getting only 2 9W A332s now instead of 3. Additionally, they might not be getting the ex GF birds. |
Quoting Turkish777X (Reply 82): TK still has TC JNF and TC JNG in its fleet, these are A332s with no IFE. Additionally, they got one more sub standard A332 ex Gulf air, registered as TC-JNV. |
