The SlimLine seats are made by BE Aerospace, supposedly based on their Pinnacle line. Recaro is a company based in Stuttgart Germany, BE Aerospace is a company based in Florida USA. I've heard good and bad about the Airbus seats, I'll check one out tomorrow. The SlimLines are good looking and comfortable.

Roger that; I was under the impression that the new Airbus seats were Recaros. Disregard...

I've flown on the new Airbus seats several times. They are far less comfortable than the seats they are replacing. The only thing they're better than is the park benches in the ex CO 737s.

Acft # 259 is in MCO getting it's Scimitars. More wing reinforcement is being put in.

Pictures of the BE Aerospace SlimLine seats. The darker headrests are Economy+, the lighter blue are Regular Economy. It can be seen that E+ goes for the first 4 1/2 rows, then there is 2 1/2 rows of regular economy, then the 2 more rows of E+ at the overwing emergency exits. Odd, bean counting solution. Those cloth checkerboard seats are on the way out now. Acft # 812.

Does anyone know the N-Number sequences planned for the United-owned E175's to be operated by Mesa? Apparently nosegear door fleet number is 302, but only photo I can find still shows its temporary foreign registration.

Flew on one yesterday -- Aircraft #4269 flying as UA772 LAX-IAD.

Utterly no lumbar support -- like being lashed to a back-board for 4 1/2 hours.

Check out this Press Release from Silver Airways

http://www.silverairways.com/about-s...e-network-and-saab-340b-plus-fleet

According to the Release, 3M has 5 B1900s that will be retired in May and exiting CLE markets.
It looks like 3 aircraft are needed to fly CLE operations as there seems to be banks of 3 flights out of/in to CLE. They all show A/C #815, mus be with the N numbers starting with 815. Interestingly enough, pulling the N815xx numbers from above show no results on FlightAware.

The new interiors look great. I noticed those first class seats do not have the look of the economy seats and lack the horizontal stitching that widens as it gets lower on the seat back and the United-branded tag. The CRJ-700 first class seats, shown in the press release when the new look was announced, look just like the economy seats only wider.

Does anybody know why the mainline first class seats do not more closely look like the economy seats as on the CRJs?

Slimlines on the 320 fleet have been about 6-7 per month the last couple months. At that rate it would take about 5 months to complete. There could be a slowing during summer. FYI: 319s have only received 9 of 55 slimlines, a much slow rate than 320s.
There have been a lot of 739s going trough INT and assume WiFi is being turned sometime on after the visits. Don't know when the 738s will have WiFi added or turned on.

The official fleet plan shows 37 752 retirements this year (I've only for sure noted one, but it looks like N515/533/540UA are in SFO and will not fly revenue again. Others sold to FedEx are still flying.
The fleet plan shows 30 added 739s this year - 10 have already been delivered. By quarter, fleet plan says 8, 9, 6 & 7 for a total of 30.
The fleet plan shows 4 788s this year (2 already delivered) and 2 789 aircraft for a total of 6 new widebodies. One 763 is slated for retirement in the 4th quarter 2014.

If the fleet plan is correct, UA will be down 7 narrowbodies and up 5 widebodies by the end of 2014 vs. the beginning of the year.

Not sure if it's been answered before, but I know I've asked a few times about the color of the new Airbus seats. I flew today on N441UA and can confirm at least one A320 has slim lines with the new blue signature seat covers. Seats aren't great but were fine for a 4 hour flight.

Hopefully 2015 will be better for fleet growth numbers. I haven't been able to find a delivery schedule for the E175s but between the UA and OO order, there should be 70 frames coming on the property before the end of next year. That's as good as any mainline narrowbody IMHO

I'm still holding out for an E190 (or equivalent) order by UA once the F/A contracts get sorted out.

Well, from a branding and customer experience perspective, it would make sense to have some semblance of a cohesive interior design... but common sense is in short supply at UAL these days.

Not enough manpower, it is extra work afterall. There is manpower enough for the 'C' Check and not much else. The sheetmetal work in the wings for the Scimitars is extensive. Think the Scimitar Mod has a schedule of approx 10-14 days with the reinforcement of the wings.

So the Blue is in, good it will all look the same after a while. Good to see it all trying to go for one look across the fleet. Liked it when Continental was almost down to one seat type. We have so many different types of seats again after the merger and the seats being changed on new deliveries. The Blue is a good color.

Only 18 738s have the third lav. It was to be the new standard on all 738s before 9/11 happened. Now that the aircraft are coming due for D checks it was decided to end the sub-fleet.

Actually, they are going into Special Holds and getting the Mid Cabin LAV removed, Aft Cabin Reconfig, LiveTV and SlimLine. Should start 2Q14.

Guam 737-800s should start getting SlimLines late this year, around December.

Should have about 65 aircraft with the SlimLines installed as of now.

747s should be getting ISP soon.

Wi-Fi Systems installs the Panasonic, the LiveTV, or the GOGO Wi-Fi systems, scheduled on Special Holds and Base Checks. Completion 2015, end of 2014 should see approx 500 aircraft with WiFi.

do the 737 slimlines have direct tv on the back or are slims just for the streaming product?

PTV monitors are compatible with the B/E slims.

[quote=CALTECH,reply=81]The Blue is a good color. [/quote. Was on a flight the other day that had the blue seats, yhe seats were VERY detailed. Like how the sides were a dark gray and white and gray stitching throughout. They did a very good job of not doing the boring straight blue like DL & US.
