SlimLines and KA Band installs are going like gang busters now. Same with inductions.
Will these slow down with the high summer season coming? Any thoughts/insight? |
Slimlines on the 320 fleet have been about 6-7 per month the last couple months. At that rate it would take about 5 months to complete. There could be a slowing during summer. FYI: 319s have only received 9 of 55 slimlines, a much slow rate than 320s.
There have been a lot of 739s going trough
INT and assume WiFi is being turned sometime on after the visits. Don't know when the 738s will have WiFi added or turned on.

Are 739 deliveries going to pick up a bit more or are the 757 retirements going to slow down and let the narrowbody fleet numbers grow quicker? |
The official fleet plan shows 37 752 retirements this year (I've only for sure noted one, but it looks like N515/533/540UA are in
SFO and will not fly revenue again. Others sold to FedEx are still flying.
The fleet plan shows 30 added 739s this year - 10 have already been delivered. By quarter, fleet plan says 8, 9, 6 & 7 for a total of 30.
The fleet plan shows 4 788s this year (2 already delivered) and 2 789 aircraft for a total of 6 new widebodies. One 763 is slated for retirement in the 4th quarter 2014.
If the fleet plan is correct,
UA will be down 7 narrowbodies and up 5 widebodies by the end of 2014 vs. the beginning of the year.
