Ahh yes!! I was on one of those! They better not be putting those seats on the new E-175's....literally I was on a 90 minute CR7 flight on those new seats and my butt hurt for 2 days! Never experienced that on a plane in my life!! Horribly uncomfortable seats.

Thank You...The fact that they have no overhead monitors or power ports right now just removed UA off my consideration list for this couples trip from Houston to Hawaii. The nonstop 777 is no longer an attractive option...even in F. What the hell are you doing UA....:-(

-IAH-HNL is currenlty flown with AVOD 767-400s. ORD-HNL (now) and (soon) DEN-HNL appear to be 3-class sUA 777s with AVOD as well.

It appears that this summer any flight to/from HNL over 6 hours will scheduled with AVOD equipped aircraft. IAH 767 sCO, ORD 777 sUA, DEN 777 sUA, EWR 767 sCO, IAD 767 sCO.

2-class 777s are flying NRT- GUM and GUM-HNL (4 frames) as well as west-coast-HNL 1x lax, 1x sfo. That accounts for 6 of 9 frames. 1 spare for maintenance routing (ex. longer gound than normal in HNL/SFO), 1 in heavy maintenance. Dunno about the last 1 if they could be used for mainland turns or for slack in the routing ??

Sat May 03, 2014 9:50 pm

That's not what I'm seeing for service in June.
ORD-HNL goes 772 Hawaiian on 5/6/14
IAH-HNL goes 772 Hawaiian on 6/5/14
DEN-HNL goes 772 3 class 6/5/14
ORD-OGG is Sat only 772 Hawaiian
LAX-HNL 1 daily 772 Hawaiian (plus several with a mix of 753/739/752)
SFO-HNL looks like 1 772 Hawaiian and 1 772 old domestic most days (some days just one 772, mix of 738/753/753/764 on additional flights)
GUM-NRT 2 RT 772 Hawaiian or 772 old Domestic, only requires one unit (plus 1 738 flight)
HNL-GUM 1 RT 772 Hawaiian or 772 old Domestic, only requires one unit as West Coast-HNL arrival provides HNL-GUM aircraft, then GUM-HNL unit goes to West Coast in evening.

1 - ORD-HNL
2 - IAH-HNL
3 - LAX-HNL (part of this unit allows HNL-GUM to be flown with one aircraft)
4 - SFO-HNL
5 - SFO-HNL (ORD-OGG Sat [positioned with SFO-ORD Friday and ORD-SFO Sunday])
6 - GUM NRT
7 - HNL-GUM
8 - SPARE
9 - MOD completion?

FYI:
EWR-HNL and IAD-HNL with 764 aircraft.

N66811 sked to exit INT 2125/3May with WiFi

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know what's going to happen with the freed up mainline aircraft that are gonna exist as a result of closing down CLE? Will they be used to accelerate aircraft mods?

CLE didn't have that many mainline departures to begin with. I think as of a few months ago it was only around 30 mainline departures a day? Maybe less? Not only that, most of the mainline flights are sticking around -- only PHX is scheduled to end later this month. Nearly all of the flights being cut are UAX flights, and those aircraft will be reallocated throughout the system. Most of the props will likely go to IAD and/or EWR, some of the 50-seaters will be parked (particularly as more E175s are delivered anyway), and the rest will simply fly from other hubs while maintaining the 15-20 remaining UAX destinations that still remain -- for now. Mainline will continue flying to approx. 15 destinations for the time being, albeit with reduced frequencies. There won't really be all that much mainline flying freed up as a result.

If someone can confirm the electric outlets on all 744s I will change the Fleet Website. However, something is not correct on United.com as I checked many 744s flights and they do not show in (flight status amenities) power in Y except in N197UA (as posted on the Fleet Websitre). Either the individual aircraft are not updated or they released the updated seating chart prior to conversion completion.

Just flew two 744s SFO-HKG and NRT-SFO....no power outlets...

Someone had brought up in a older thread that there was a red meatball with white contrails in it. You were right. In this video, at approx. 2:26 - 2:29 one can see # 044 a DC-10-10 with that red and white meatball painted on the tail.

WiFi is being installed. 2-Class Reconfiguration also being accomplished now due to extensive time for other issue.

Lots of aircraft out of service for Mod work. Could be part of the problem with earnings.

Any updates on the final 744's and 763's in paint? Are they still on track for completion next month? If so, huge milestone ahead!

Also, with all this talk about pilot shortages and the drawdown of CLE, do we have any definitive word on which Express Ops will be trimmed? I would think that UA would have a new fleet plan posted to their investor site in the coming months with more 50 seat removals on it.

I really do hope the 2 in maintenance are getting power installations... Otherwise seems they sure are taking their sweet time dragging their feet with bringing their worst long haul aircraft up to some level of decency.

Does anyone know what the Seating Arrangement is like on N194UA? I know it's not easy to get on that and take pictures yourself, but the only ones I can find are from 2010 before it went to Atlas. Does it have the IPTE layout?

Unless it was reconfigured for Atlas or for UA's charter flights to some sort of all Y layout, it should still have the old F,C suites in them and the old Y layout. N194UA was one of the 6 UA retired in 2008/2009 when fuel prices were sky high (the others being 187, 193, 195, 196, 198. all but 187 were scrapped  Sad)and they did not refit it with IPTE. It was then pulled out of the desert in summer 2010 for charters, then was leased to Atlas in January 2011 for a year before returning.

N465UA exited LCQ 2169/18May with slimline seats. 70 of 97 now have slimline seats.

cosyr/UA444
N194UA, equipment number 8194 is currently on the below flight
1885/19May - you can pull it up on United.com Flight Info and look at the seat map. i believe that map shows all seats on the aircraft and non-colored seats do not exist. Row 1-5 are probably the nose, so I don't know where the upper deck seats are shown.

CRJ-200 SkyWest (70/74)

What additional 4 aircraft are you showing as not painted yet? I'll track them down, I believe that the number of 200's for OO is now 70 from what I can find.

I have these shown - maybe they are not in the UAX fleet
N988CA in Unknown Paint
N699BR, N702BR, N947SW in Skywest Paint

For the record show these SkyWest CRJ700's in UA Blue
N756/58/60/62/64/79/84/87/97SK

Do you want to check and verify on the SkyWest EMB120 fleet?

Just went through all 744s and only N197UA has power all rows - all others don't have it (except maybe 2 now in Maint.)
Quoting S75752 (Reply 181):
I really do hope the 2 in maintenance are getting power installations... Otherwise seems they sure are taking their sweet time dragging their feet with bringing their worst long haul aircraft up to some level of decency.
Quoting cosyr (Reply 182):
Does anyone know what the Seating Arrangement is like on N194UA? I know it's not easy to get on that and take pictures yourself, but the only ones I can find are from 2010 before it went to Atlas. Does it have the IPTE layout?

Will try to find info on these issues in a couple of days. Looked at one in HKG, and the interior was taken out but do not know if ISP is going back in with the cabin reinstallation.
You are here.

It needs something. Flew CLE>DEN on it on Monday and it had nothing.

I find it hard to believe that UA has not prioritized this. Inside, it's pretty nice save the lack of PTV's. Wifi will be OK for the next 4-6 years and then onto the A350. I see they moved the 744 to ORD>PVG that's a long 14 hrs w.o any entertainment.
It made me connect in EWR.

I may have missed this from previous discussions, but what is the plan for the mid-lav 738s? I presume they will have the lav removed and be reconfigured like the rest of the 738 fleet, but why have they not gotten to it yet? Will they install the new signature seats with the cabin mod? Why exactly were they delivered with the mid-cabin lavs to begin with?

Thanks in advance!

From earlier in this thread. Slimlines will be signature seats.

Only 18 738s have the third lav. It was to be the new standard on all 738s before 9/11 happened. Now that the aircraft are coming due for D checks it was decided to end the sub-fleet.

Actually, they are going into Special Holds and getting the Mid Cabin LAV removed, Aft Cabin Reconfig, LiveTV and SlimLine. Should start 2Q14.

Updates on Mesa CR7s:

N507MJ (former battleship gray): https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/14271245085

It also looks like N514MJ, the last battleship gray CR7 may have new paint as well, but the pictures weren't clear enough to tell.
