New ERJ175 Update / Version

Wed Mar 12, 2014 8:52 pm

Hi,

I'm not sure if this popped up over here recently but today Embraer an updated ERJ175 with 6.5% SFC improvement.

Among the changes are: updated winglets, aerodinamic refinements and system optimizations

I wish a long life for the ERJ family!

Correct, SkyWest will be the launch customer for this enhance version of the 175. The will take delivery of one first generation aircraft while all other deliveries will be the new enhanced version. The first generation aircraft will go into mods sometime over the summer.

Are these the new E175s they are flying for UA? Will they operate all the 70 UA E170s?

This is an improved version of the CURRENT E-Jet... SkyWest is the launch customer for the E2 series.. no more winglets... They get Raked wingtips =) Of note... there will NOT be an E170 E2 series... just 175/190/195

Any info if boeing licensed the raked technology concept to embraer or does boeing not have a strong enough case for patent infringement?

I don't know infiniti329 in regards to the E2's or the raked wingtips... however.. Boeing and Embraer do work together...
