Quoting MesaFlyGuy (Reply 1): Maybe it was an Emirstes SkyCargo plane? |
Quoting rotating14 (Reply 8): The cargo is usually horses. |

Quoting eksath (Thread starter): I observed an Emirates 777-2 pull into a parking spot on the north side of runway 10L at FLL this evening. It appears she arrived from LAX. Any thoughts of the reason for the visit and when it will depart? |
Quoting N62NA (Reply 17): I think what user Miami was alluding to was that given FLL's rather short runway, that's a very long distance for a very large plane like the 777. |

Quoting Goodbye (Reply 21): Quoting gweilo88 (Reply 9): Do horses have jet lag when they arrive? Yes, but the effect is usually neigh-gligible |
Quoting jetblastdubai (Reply 19): The Sheik's horses have their own private plane....a 744 with the callsign "Dubai 8". The royal hangar on the SE corner (just south of 30L) of the airport hold the entire royal fleet...I believe it's 3 744's, a 737, a B1900 and a few helos. Two 744's went out back-to-back a couple years ago to FLL for the race....Dubai 1 and Dubai 8....You can guess who was in Dubai 1. I've never seen an Emirates 777 chartered to transport the horses but I guess it's possible. |
