Any word on how 787-9 certification is going? I'm noticing customer -9's are starting to roll

I would imagine that certification would need to be complete before any B-1 flights could be completed on customer -9's (at least ones that aren't part of the flight test program). Unless they want the experimental flight test guys tied down to doing what the rest of the Boeing flight dept. does...

132 through March 31st. I believe the April delivery was not added to the right.

I used all things 787 to find the deliveries and believe that is where the difference lies.

The UA plane is part of the certification programme because it is the first production aircraft with GE engines. It was noted in the article you linked a couple of days ago:

Nice to see all the B-1s in recent days. If AC (LN160), AI (LN28), and ET (LN167) can get up in the next few days, there will be a good chance of a nice number of deliveries this month.

The last 5 deliveries from Everett took 27/28/29/34/37 days from first flight to delivery.
The number used to be in the high teens prior to wing crack and travel work issues so assume it will tend back towards those numbers once those issues are settled.

This one flew by my home in Auburn this afternoon while I was out mowing the lawn. It made me miss the time a few years ago when plenty of 787's and 748's were flying into BFI. I rarely see them now (although that might be because we rarely have a clear sky!).

Sorry, I didn't see a response to this question from MEA330, but with Air Canada already booking flights on their 787 I am beginning to wonder if they will receive it in time. Anyone know when LN160 is scheduled to fly ?

LN170 was at the fuel dock as of yesterday while LN160 remained inside the EMC. It seems possible that LN170 will fly and be delivered first. Perhaps LN160 was particularly affected by the wing issue.

They could have some IFE that might need ground/flight certification but that alone would not cause a trip to the EMC.

Must have been the same flight I saw directly overhead in Kent when I was out washing my car that day. One thing that struck me was how loud it was - very surprised because most of the times a 787 has come over just prior to lining up on final for BFI you could barely hear it. This one was not going to sneak up on anyone. And it wasn't just after it was past me, but it was when it was approaching. Really made me notice.

Actually C-GHPQ (Air Canada #1) is on the flightline (stall #105) so will likely fly first. C-GHPT (Air Canada #2) is at the fuel dock and C-GHPU (Air Canada #3) remains in the EMC. All three have been painted.

OK, I thought AC #1 was on the flightline. But it's been there for a few weeks I believe, and with the Air Canada schedule accepting bookings for the 787 from Toronto to Tel Aviv effective July 01, I hope they receive this beautiful bird in time. Thanks to all for the responses above !

AC 787's will be doing Flight Attendant training flights in May and you will see it on many shorthaul routes predominantly in the YOW, YUL and YYZ triangle. Next it will be doing ground familiarization flights to YVR, YYC, and YYZ. All of these will have passengers on board. They may or may not be scheduled in advance. Then they start regularly scheduled service on the dates announced.

NYC777 (thanks!) has added a second 789 for ANA (LN 202) to the upcoming production list as well as Xiamen's first 788 (LN 201). Anyone have any guesses how many 789s will be delivered in 2014? We know that UA will get two, ANZ ~3, ANA should get 2-3. Any others that we know? JAL? Six seems very realistic with more being possible.

Interesting. I just saw ZB001 fly past my office window on final for BFI, but it was flying under flight number BOE789, not BOE1. Until now Boeing has been using BOE789 for ZB021.

Matt Cawby posted pictures of both ZA266 (ET LN167) and ZA232 (AI LN28) having nice smoky first engine runs today. I expect that is a good sign both aircraft will be flying soon, although it is probably a bit late to see them deliver in April.
