Quoting AA737-823 (Reply 1): Is this the airplane with the exotic looking, modified wing tips? |
Quoting 777ER (Reply 4): How will you know if your booking a flight on a 170 or 175? |
Quoting Goldenshield (Reply 5): |
Quoting jetblastdubai (Reply 3): I think this plane will really be a game-changer for the big gap in United's domestic product. |
Quoting jetblastdubai (Reply 3): I think this plane will really be a game-changer for the big gap in United's domestic product. |
Quoting 777ER (Reply 6): Quoting Goldenshield (Reply 5): Thanks. Thankfully then it won't just show up as a generic 170 and departure time its a 175 |
Quoting Roseflyer (Reply 7): I am not sure I see much difference from the 70 seat 170. I don't think 6 seats will make that big of a difference. The one benefit is that those 6 seats are added with little additional cost, but I don't see a significant change other that CRJs going away. |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 10): Has the explus F product been improved? |
Quoting ThePinnacleKid (Reply 9): The big first SkyWest Junglebus!!!! How quickly the RAH Groups pseudo monopoly on "regional" US Junglebus operations fades... when does Mesa receive the first 175? |
Quoting LHCVG (Reply 11): I do believe the "ExPlus" branding and titles on a/c has disappeared, but no regional F and E+ is still very much there. |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 16): The Y+ is fine but the F is terrible compared to AA/DL/AC large RJs |
Quoting LHCVG (Reply 17): I haven't seen much difference at all in hard product. |

Quoting jetblastdubai (Reply 19): The E175 maximizes the SCOPE limitations ALPA has placed on United. |

Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 18): It's the shelf stable box 'o crap in F while others are serving actual meals that is something best avoided. |
Quoting jetblastdubai (Reply 19): Not huge but consider an E75 potentially doing 3 roundtrips between ORD and DCA a day. UA's fare is showing $340 1-way. 6 extra seats times 6 legs at $340 is a tad over $12,000. That's $12,000 not going into UA's bank account for very little added expense of operating the slightly larger plane. The E175 maximizes the SCOPE limitations ALPA has placed on United. |
Quoting catiii (Reply 22): What actual meals are you getting on DL? |
Quoting jetblastdubai (Reply 19): The lunch box and drink service in a plastic cup was just fine as I'm not one of those people who walk on an airplane and immediately become totally helpless and need to be waited on hand and foot. |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 10): Has the explus F product been improved? |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 18): It's the shelf stable box 'o crap in F while others are serving actual meals that is something best avoided. |
Quoting LHCVG (Reply 17): Do you notice that much difference? |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 25): as do AA and AC for sure, |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 25): No idea; I never fly DL, but I'm fairly certain they have actual fresh meals at meal time on longer flights, as do AA and AC for sure, and not mid 2000 vintage shelf stable packs. |

Quoting PMUA787 (Reply 14): Any chance in the near future the E170 or 175 will show up at ELP or is ELP stuck with the 145's until they are relegated to the desert? |
Quoting catiii (Reply 28): . I do fly DL on a regular basis, and I've never gotten a meal on the 175. |
Quoting N1120A (Reply 26): Especially with OO, where the CR7s in particular are dark, dank and claustrophobic. I had a horrible experience in F on a CR7 from YYZ to IAH |
Quoting UA444 (Reply 31): My thoughts exactly. When these planes are flown by actual United pilots, let me know. |
Quoting IAHflyer97 (Reply 13): I wouldn't have a problem with sitting 3 hours on one of those. |
Quoting LHCVG (Reply 27): I can't find it on the DL website now, but I remember reading a couple years ago that they did put ovens in at least some large RJs. That would put them head and shoulders above UA for sure with their snack boxes and cold cuts at best. |
Quoting tyler81190 (Reply 33): The aircraft flew through MCI today on its proving runs... |
Quoting Goldenshield (Reply 34): It's actually been doing that for the past two weeks, and will more than likely be doing it up until start of service. It's a nice, 1 hour block for the crews to get operating experience on. |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 30): I know it exists, plus they've had several press releases talking about new fresh food on shuttle routes, which tend to be 175s as well. |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 30): In my experience the OO FAs are some of the best in the entire network. |
Quoting MaverickM11 (Reply 30): In my experience the OO FAs are some of the best in the entire network. |
Quoting catiii (Reply 28): teresting, I thought you were speaking from experience given how positive you were about the differences in service. I do fly DL on a regular basis, and I've never gotten a meal on the 175. Usually you're offered an item from the snack basket. I also fly UA on a regular basis. On United I've been offered the snackbox http://www.united.com/web/en-US/cont.../travel/inflight/economy/menu.aspx |
Quoting catiii (Reply 36): Not on the east coast Shuttle. It's been the same general offerings for the past 3 years |
Quoting bjorn14 (Reply 42): To DashTrash To some operators the E75/90/95 is a mainline workhorse. As someone else mention I think USA airlines are a bit scizo about what to call it. Will we be calling the CS100/300 a 'regional'? Do we call the 717, DC9s regionals? My rule is if there is room above my 6'2" frame its mainline. |
Quoting bjorn14 (Reply 42): My rule is if there is room above my 6'2" frame its mainline. |
Quoting Goldenshield (Reply 32): DL will usually have cereals or pastries for breakfast, and sandwiches and salads for lunch in first, but I think it has to be minimum 900 mile flight. |
Quoting MIflyer12 (Reply 45): Delta's rule for a plated 'meal' at 900-1499 miles is a departure time at meal times. |
