This is great news! I was hoping someone would fill the void left by WN. Hopefully those fares don't creep up that much more than $99 each way. I always took advantage of the $69 each way fares by WN. It was a great, cheap way to get to the island for a long weekend.

Cheers!

I figured this would be a great opportunity for B6. Can't their E-190s get in and out of EYW?

Awesome, this is much better than driving to Key West from Orlando.

Maybe not the longer 190, butYX uses 170's there .

I think they'd be able to do it with a weight restriction. The E-190s seem to do fine out of LCY (though I don't know if the differences between the LR and the AR would affect the performance that much).

EMB has an 190SR model for 'short runway' that IIRC airlines use at LCY.

Not sure, but I think the SR mods of the E190 have more to do with the steep approach than the short runway at LCY. There are other airlines, by the way, that fly non-SR E190s from LCY, e.g. Lufthansa and Alitalia.

Clearly a way to fill the void left by WN. Good move Silver.

Also, the flight from EYW to MCO is so short that it requires very little fuel. Probably a 40-45 minute flight. The E-190 shouldn't have any problems going in and out of EYW to MCO.
