Really interested in the "2 Residence" I wonder could this be some sort of amazing beyond first class type product or has something been lost in translation

It is only 1 Residence, not 2.

They are taking it way beyond the first class suite type.
Imagine you have your own living room plus your own bathroom and a bedroom !!!!

They took the premium classes to a totally new level.
Way to go EY.

The residence!
A class beyond "Suite" ....what a product.

Love all the little details the design team takes effort into.
Kudos to Etihad!

I suggest we keep this thread dedicated to the A380 operations.

The cabin product can be discussed in here:

So is the price for residence per passenger then? Or is it pay for the suite, and you can travel alone or as two for the same price (or at least not double price)?

But, still, I think this is just insane. That first class looks excellent, yet there is a class above. Business looks very good as well, would love to try all of them, but I imagine my chances are "unlikely", "never gonna happen", and "not even if I win the lottery".

Is there any chance the A380 could come to YYZ?

Someone did a dummy booking of a residence, came out to be $45K AUH to LHR. I doubt that residence will get booked much. At that point many are probably taking the PJ. That residence also comes with a true British butler.

The Private Jet will probably run you twice that or more.

flight times are ordinary, if I were paying $35,000 for the residence I'd want to enjoy it, there isn't much you'd be doing at 3am other than sleeping.

I guess there enough rich arabs in that part of the world to make it worthwhile. And if it saves a private jet or two then it's even environmentally friendly. The butler will certainly get an easy life. Probably most days he'll just sit in there watching tv and eating lobster whilst flying all around the world for free.

I was wondering about that as well if they would always have one onboard or not. What if a last minute booking is made or he is needed for the return flight but not the outbound flight? Perhaps he will just help with the service to the Apartments if the Residence isn't booking for that flight.

The Butler is none other than a member of the cabin crew compliment on that flight, who happens to be trained by the Savoy Academy. Though i'd like to see how differently he is dressed, and would stand apart like the Food and Beverage managers do in their white coats. If there is no need for Butler services on that flight, I would assume he serves in First.

I guess the same could be said of Etihad's Nanny FAs on board. But then there isn't really any flight without kids. Not to forget Etihad's on board chefs. In fact, when entering EY's flights you are greeted by the Purser and usually the Food and Beverage Manager.
