Interesting stat as 3 have been delivered, 1 sits on the flight line which then leaves 2.
Will they come from LN 11 & LN 14 currently in the EMC?
Or will they be new builds (direct from BBJ or through ILFC leases)?
Time will tell!

Perhaps one or both of LN 5 and LN 6, both of which Boeing has previously implied already have customers. LN 6 has been at San Antonio for a long time and may be close to ready (I'm not sure anyone outside of Boeing actually knows). LN 5 had some change incorporation work done earlier this year but still has a long way to go; it's sitting on 11-29 in a state of some disarray at the moment.

I hate to bring this up, but when discussing the 787, using words like "smoking" and "hot" in your posts is probably not a good idea if you are trying to convey thoughts of positiveness.

Personally, I'd rather see words like "cool", "durable" and "refreshing" when trying to invoke an emotion!  duck

Flight testing and for the 787-9 must be almost complete. You would think Boeing would not start readying customer 787-9's until final configuration of the aircraft is complete.

Good news for the program!

KL should get their first 787-9 in Q4 of this year is that still correct? When will the aircraft start production? I would assume pretty soon now, right?

ZA437 should be conducting its C-1 today as well:

Another CHS record. 127 days from FAL entry to Delivery. Beating out B-2787 by 4 days.
CHS continues to make strides! 5Y-KZB which conducted its B1 today did so 58 days after entering FAL, another CHS record...

I would like to add a suggestion to those of you keeping lists on the 788 stock: If an airframe happens to be the last frame that the airline will take of that model, please make note of that.

It is possible the airline asked for late changes in the configuration which are performed *after* the bulk of the payments are made (at delivery) to Boeing. Or, it could be the airline just doesn't need the plane for a few days. Boeing won't object... they've been paid.

They already have 4 delivered. That is pretty standard for Boeing and the 787 program. Looking back, most months only see a few deliveries before the last week of the month and then they go crazy:

Quoting lightsaber (Reply 126): Wow... deliveries seem slow. I hope for an 'end of the month' rush.
Wasn't May always slow though?

With 3 out of PAE and 1 out of CHS there is still the possibility of 5 more out of PAE before the end of the month. HNA ZA437 (171) and BAB ZA455 (173) have completed their C-1 flights -- HNA ZA436 (151), ANA ZA136 (179) and NOR ZA579 (178) are also possibilities bringing the total to 8 out of PAE. With a couple more out of CHS we could see up to 12 this month but 10 seems more likely -- still ahead of the 8 in April.

Of course, the two CHS birds that might be delivered are both Air India's, so Boeing doesn't have a lot of control. I think they will get to 8-10 depending on AI.

It seems the second BBJ 787 (LN 193) belongs to Saudi Ministry of finance:

Ah, good to see. Arke's first 787 is to be delivered the first week of June, and I was wondering if they could make it. Should be possible now. I guess.

But what are these black trails of dust behind the MLG? Looks like dust after some strong braking action with cfrp disc brakes? Can't remember ever seeing that on an airplane. F1 cars yes, you really have to push them hard to get this.

MLG braking dust, I have seen it on 777s and A330s many times before

Another update to the spreadsheet on all things 787:

>LN11: Korean Air

Is this the one 787-8 they ordered some time ago or is this one gonna be an addition to that single 787-8 order?

In either case a free bee for the 748i purchase I'm guessing.

Their original order was for the 787-8 before they converted it to the 787-9, so perhaps in hindsight they realize they still have a role for the smaller plane in their fleet.

They have 10 787-9's on order. Hardly anybody orders just one of something especially a major airline -- I don't think this will be used in normal scheduled service.

Perhaps a replacement for the 747-400 leased from KE for use by the government as an official transport.
