Is Jetblue Changing Their Livery?

Mon May 12, 2014 3:05 am

Last week here in MCO at the old Live TV hangar there were blue LED lights for some reason could it have been for this?

Wow nice find. Wonder if this is indeed a new livery, a new tail style, or maybe some sort of special livery?

Is N709JB a new delivery plane?

I'm skeptical because there is an advertisement in the middle of the fuselage.....nice-looking though.

Well JetBlue is introducing new uniforms next month and it will be accented with orange...maybe they will add some orange on the planes too?

Yes there is an advertisement mid-fuselage plus extra text under the cockpit windshield. I am guessing that this is some sort of promotional livery. It isn't nearly "new" enough to be a new livery. The titles are the same as the current scheme. If an airline that defends its brand as much as B6 was going to re-brand, they wouldn't just randomly operate the new livery aircraft on a standard revenue flight to MCO!

Certainly not bad, but it reminds me of NK's livery a bit too much.

They added green to accentuate their Mint product. Why not orange to accentuate their focus cities in Florida?

Orange is already used on the Barcode tail:

I thought the same exact thing- certainly a nice change from the regular B6 liveries though...

Did they put anything on the tail or is the video showig the finished product? If it's the latter, I'm very disappointed.

It's the finished product. It's a special livery to commemorate the launch of their "Fly-Fi" service, though the livery hasn't been officially announced/introduced.

Up close, you'll see that the tail depicts binary sequences, and the name of the aircraft is "Connected to Blue," with 'Blue' written out in binary.
