JetBlue has has about 50 E-190 jets. Do you think they will add
more E-190s or go with maybe A319 which I hear might go out
production after reading the article in forbes about the A321
going to have the upper hand.I was surprised with B6 adding
JAX-FLL.It looks B6 will need something smaller than A320 or
start a connection carrier like JetBlue Express

Unfortunately, the smallest version of planes from their respected families usually become of odd ones out (A318, A319 ,A319neo, A350-800, Boeing 737-600, Boeing 737 MAX 7, etc.)
I don't see the A319 at JetBlue, but maybe the Embear ERJ E2 family could catch their eye sooner than later.
If B6 needs something a bit smaller, I'd suspect maybe the ERJ-190 E2 or -195 E2 would be their choice.

Technically they do have E190s still on order. Without knowing the details of the contract, I couldn't guess how much leverage Embraer has on B6.
I would expect B6 to up-gauge if they did order and thus the E2-195. Just my
(I have absolutely not a single rumor to go by on this subject.)

B6 has 60 E190s in property as of end of 2013, and 24 outstanding orders for the type per their annual report.

Yes , 24 on order but not slated for delivery until 2020. Chances are the e190 will be out of production by then, meaning the e2 will be accepted or the order canceled.

It's too bad, B6 never took up the CSeries. The CS100 would be perfect for them. Heck, I think the perfect fleet for them would be: CS100, CS500, A321NEO.

They have 60, but last fall, JetBlue deferred the remaining 24 E190's they had on order to 2020-2022. That deferral is so far out in time that it is either a near-effective cancellation or any deliveries would likely be accompanied by the sale of owned aircraft or return of leased aircraft.

And avalaible for order back in 2003, B6 still would have gone with the Ejet, neeleman was and still is only an Ejet guy!

Personally, it's not a national pride thing, it's a passenger comfort thing. Wider seats, bigger windows, larger overhead bins. Those matter to me far more than the flag on the manunfacturer plate.
I actually think the CS100 fits B6 well on product. Particularly with the large overhead bins for the type of short runs that B6 tends to use their 190 fleet for.

What are the current specs on the C-Series coach seats? Their website info.cseries.com says that the middle seat is "up 1.5 inches wider than the competition," and another source blog.apex.aero/ says that the middle seats are 19 inches wide and the window and aisle seats are 18.5 inches wide.

I've heard from an airline colleague that the E190 does not handle cold winter weather well in the likes of BOS, JFK, and generally all of New England where they're flown. The E190s will probably see a gradual transfer to the SJU and FLL hubs, focusing on Caribbean and Latin routes.

The larger the aircraft the smaller the cost of fuel/seat is. That means there is a push toward bigger and bigger aircraft. The push is greater among LCCs. I would not expect any more E190s unless there is an E190NEO with much better fuel costs...doubtful. The A321 is where the market is going. I would expect an A322 at some point.

I agree, B6 could also use it for most thin transcontinental routes out of JFK/BOS as the CS100 will have near to transcontinental range. Also it could do thin routes to central america and the caribbean. As she is born in Montreal the cold should be no sweat

If that is true I just can't imagine what Air Canada and Finnair (just to mention two) do with their fleet of Embraers.

Nope, and I would be surprised if the E190s were removed from the northeast routes.
E190 dispatch reliability is comparable to the A320. Yes, they had issues in the past, but for the most part that seems to be bend them.

What would the A319 do for B6? The trip fuel costs are only slightly lower than the A320 and there are only a couple of places where the additional performance might help (BUR, DCA). The A319 would also have more than 100 seats so it would still need 3 FAs. I think if B6 is really an LCC, then they should not be adding routes that cannot support an A320. I can see where the E-190s can meet the requirement for the upstate New York routes and a few others since they have to have them. If they have too many E-190s then B6 becomes more like a legacy carrier without intercontinental flights, which is not a good thing to be.

I would much prefer an E190 with no risk of winding up in a middle seat, and E190 seats and aisles seem wider than a 737. I've been on quite a few E190s (mostly KLM) and they seem to have plenty of overhead bin space to accommodate all passengers, even on full flights.

But AC flies their E190s YOW-YYC-YVR.
I can't imagine Ottawa and Calgary having warmer winter weather than Boston.
