KE And CA 748 Destinations, Where Will They Go?

The title says it all. Will they fly them to the United States? Obviously KE will fly theirs to ICN and PEK for CA, initially.  
When wasn't America great?

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

I'm sure someone posted on here that CA will use their 748i on one of the two daily flights each to JFK & FRA.

Air China's first frame (LN 1499) is sitting in bare aluminum at the moment after what was described as a "malfunction" in the paint hangar. There are several quite nice pictures of her. She is scheduled to go back into paint in June, and I would think delivery would be later in the month or in early July.

KAL's first Intercontinental is scheduled to be the next to enter the FAL (LN 1506), so the expectation was that the delivery would be in the later third this year most likely. In a couple of recent articles, some statements were made by the reporter that KE is supposed to receive their first frame in 2015, but there is no real corroboration either way that I can find.

If one takes a look at the first reply of the Official 747-8 Flight Tracking/Production Part 16 thread, one can see that the subsequent Intercontinental frames for KE, CA, and LH all follow very closely on the heels of these upcoming ones.

Cities needing more then a 777 but smaller then an A380 if only one flight daily. Could fly the second daily to Atlanta, JFK or LAX. For Korean they could by the right plane for LHR and FRA since an A380 may be too big since CDG is the Skyteam hub for Europe.

I would put HKG over TPE. Taiwan limits daily mainland Chinese visitors and they are maxed out right now. HK gets daily CA 777, 744 and A330 from PEK along with the n/b flights.

If you're max'ed out by frequency, isnt' that an even better reason to upgauge ?

IIRC CA and CX has a JV on PEK-HKG, and frequency is king there. TPE is a different dynamic that the limited options allow very high fares/yield premiums to be charged (heck, CA actually flies 3-class First on PVG-TPE for that 1.5 hour flight)

CZ tried doing PEK-HKG using A380 but as I recall wasn't too successful.

number of allowed to visit is maxed out. sending higher capacity airplanes won't solve the problem.

Any chance of Heathrow seeing the Korean B747-8i? We used to see the B744 and I recently logged my last B77W so I am now eeady to more on   Failing that, the A388 would be fine.

What are the chances of IAH getting one? I know both KE and CA do well, though it is a little early for KE to be considering an upgauge.

That's because it's the only aircraft available to operate that route. The 1st and business class on that A340 is rarely full on those flights with my experiences.

More likely to see CA's 748s used to America than TPE. They do fine with their A333 services.
